Ever had a Sore, Cranky or Lame horse? Biting or pinning ears while being saddled? Reluctant to being caught? Or hard to bridle?
We all have if you've been into horses for a long time.
What creates this?
Did you know your horse should be rideable into their 30's? Perform into their 20's!
This is information like you have never seen before! Please watch and share about what is really going on inside your horse. AND what you can do about it. Every horse I've seen has 1st rib out by 7 months of age. And this starts the high/low syndrome in front hooves. And most bodywork professionals do not know how to release it! This causes our training and behavioral issues as well as saddle fit issues.

National Therapy Animal Day
a day dedicated to celebrating all therapy animals around the nation and all the volunteering they do ... Here at Dream On Curls .. we especially applaud all our therapy horses - past and present - always patient and kind facilitating miracles ~ bringing comfort to all those in need..
In answer to the question - how much weight can a therapy horse carry ??
How much weight can a horse carry? In my experience, a horse can carry an infinite amount.
They can carry the weight of broken hearts, broken homes, and broken bodies. Countless tears sometimes comb their tangled manes. There are moments when parents and friends cannot be there to help and hold a person; horses embrace and empower. They carry physical, mental, and emotional handicaps. They carry hopes and dreams and they will carry the stress from your day when you can’t carry it anymore.
They carry graduations. They carry new careers. They carry moves away from everything familiar. They carry marriages,. They carry divorces. They carry funerals. They carry babies before they are born, and sometimes they carry the mothers who cannot carry their own baby. They carry mistakes. They carry joy. They carry the good and they carry the bad. They carry drugs and addictions, but they also carry the celebrations.
They will carry you to success when all you have felt is failure. They will carry you, never knowing the weight of your burdens and triumphs.
If you let them, they will carry you through life, and life is hard. Life is heavy. But a horse will make you feel weightless under it all
We witness this every day with our lesson horses and their riders/handlers.

Therapeutic horseback riding is finding accommodations to allow for as much success possible. Here is OYY My Sharona learning to be mounted on the 'off' ( wrong) side
Typically people mount a horse on the horse’s right side which requires stabilizing oneself with the left leg. Sometimes the horses make a accomodations for the inability to mount from the "right" side.
Sharona's daughter OYY Classy Castilla also stands well for mounting on the opposite side .. Due to less strength and flexibility this was not possible for this rider. Switching it up and having the rider stabilize herself with her right leg instead allowed her to be completely successful mounting then riding.
We are lucky as a therapeutic facility to have such patient awesome mounts.. and even more special -- so many of our horses are related..
