Stingers Program The "Little Stinger" program is a way for our North Side youth to get involved with Hillcrest basketball. 3rd grade through Senior year!

The Main goal of the Little Stinger Program is to bring basic to advanced basketball fundamentals specifically to the youth of the North side. Every High School athlete has four years to play High School basketball. Schools that are competitive every year have athletes that start investing in their basketball development before their middle school years. The Little Stingers program offers that opportunity for future Lady Hornets!

Show-Me State Games Champions šŸ†

What a way to end our travel season!

Our 2027 group finished the Show-Me State Games as Champions, and they earned every bit of it. They battled through adversity all weekendā€”from officiating changes to games where it felt like we couldnā€™t get a call our way. None of that mattered. They stayed together, kept fighting, and found a way to win.

Last year, we came up just short in the championship game. This year, we finished the job. Thatā€™s what growth looks like.

Our 2031 group had an incredible battle against the Knights, a talented team loaded with future Lady Incarnate Word players, and coached by the Head Coach the Lady Chiefs of Kickapoo know really well. They came up short by 9 in a fantastic game, but at SBA, itā€™s never just about wins and lossesā€”itā€™s about what we learn. Theyā€™ll be back, and theyā€™ll get another shot at it next year.

As for our 2027sā€¦ what a way to go out. Years from now, theyā€™ll be able to bring their own kids back to the Show-Me State Games and say, ā€œWe were the best team in Missouri.ā€ Way to end Travel our Season!

What a weekend for the Stinger Basketball Association (SBA)!

Our teams proudly competed against some of the best talent at the Run 4 Roses Classic and the Run 4 Roses Championship, continuing our commitment to seeking out the highest level of competition.

šŸ€ Our 2031 girls battled in the Blue Division, earned a spot in the Silver Bracket, and finished their impressive run in the semifinals.

šŸ€ Our 2027 team competed in the highly competitive Cyan Division, advanced to the Gold Bracket, and also fought their way to the semifinals.

šŸ€ With little time to rest, the 2027 group turned right around the very next day to compete in the Run 4 Roses Championship in the Blue Division. They played their hearts out and made it to the Silver Bracket of the Blue Division championship game, coming up just 7 points short against a talented team from AustraliašŸ‡¦šŸ‡ŗ (Legit)

While the trophies didnā€™t come home with us this time, the experience, growth, and lessons certainly did. At SBA, we pride ourselves on playing the best competition possible because we know thatā€™s where champions are made. Win or lose, every game makes us better.

Our program has always been about creating good young people, future College athletes. Itā€™s not just about winning, as much as we like to win, we also care about having fun and creating memories together as a family. You get what you see with us

šŸ€ What a weekend of basketball.

One of the most enjoyable parts of this tournament was seeing so many teams come together and compete at such a high level. The draft process is always funā€”putting teams together, creating new combinations, and seeing players embrace the challenge of competing alongside teammates they may not normally play with.

There were highs, there were lows, and there were plenty of lessons learned along the way. Some games came down to a few possessions, some moments tested us, and others reminded us why we love this game. Through it all, the competition was outstanding.

At the end of the day, itā€™s all about getting valuable reps. Every game is an opportunity to improve, build chemistry, develop confidence, and grow as a player and teammate. The scoreboard matters, but the experience and growth matter just as much.

Big thank you to all the players, coaches, and families who helped make this tournament special. The energy, effort, and competitive spirit were on display all weekend. Already looking forward to the next one. Hoops Midwest šŸ€šŸ”„
