The Springfield/Clark County Hall of Fame was established as the Springfield Old Timers in 1959 with the induction of Pat Donahue.

It was reestablished after an 11-year hiatus in 2002. The Hall of Fame was incorporated in September 2009.

Historical marker unveiled in Springfield for sports legend Brooks Lawrence The Conscious Connect Community Development Corporation (CDC) unveiled its second Ohio Historical Marker during a dedication in Springfield to honor Brooks Lawrence, a “talented all-around athlete that used sports to create social change.”

The community is invited to celebrate the life and legacy of — a Springfield native, World War II Bronze Star veteran, Major League Baseball All-Star, and the first Black player inducted into the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame — with the unveiling of his Ohio Historical Marker.
