Tennessee State Criterium Championships
Nashville, TN
June 14, 2026

Kent Bostick, Trent Long, & Michael Twigg raced the combined Masters 50+ field. A hard attack on the first lap put Kent & Michael on the back foot momentarily. While they were getting their breath back, Long was attacked by Jason Tatum & Patrick Harkins. The two got off and Team MACK did a team chase but were only able to hold even.
However, the team chase was sufficient enough that all the 60+ riders fell off the back leaving Kent Bostick a guaranteed win. The final sprint shook up the field when a guy went off into the wet grass and then came back onto the course sideways.
Kent secured his victory in the 60+, while Trent & Michael each took 3rd in their age groups, 50-54 and 50-59 respectively.

Kent gave Trent & Michael a pep talk before the trio lined up 30 minutes later for the Masters 35+ race. Here were Kent’s words of wisdom in the team meeting: “It's not our job to make the race fast, it's our job to be in the break.” Many of the 50+ riders also competed in the 35+ race, creating sort of a rematch. Specifically, Tatum & Harkins were back alternating their attacks off the front early in the race just like before. Kent countered four of those until he and Tatum got off for good. Trent and Michael stayed at the front the rest of the field taking turns, either controlling the pace or keeping other attacks from gaining momentum.
Meanwhile, Kent used his old age to feign fatigue while working with Tatum. Kent admitted that Tatum did more of the work. Kent confided to Michael later that he had considered letting Tatum do all of the work using the “can’t pull, wont sprint” line, but knew his MACK teammates would be pi**ed, so he continued working with Tatum all the way to the end, doing a reasonable share of the work. There were a series of three corners leading into the finish which Kent entered first and was able to win the final sprint. Once Kent’s lead was clearly not in jeopardy, Twigg attacked from the chase group with a lap and a half to go. He was swallowed up 300 meters from the finish. Trent took 7th while Michael got 12th.

Friday nite crit 35+ 30 starters fast first lap went out at 32mph. After 3 laps 2 man break of 50+ riders off the front. Jim Halpin tried to real leaders in not much help. Multiple attacks throughout the race kept pace close to 27 mph for 45 min. With one lap to go the 2 man break was 20 seconds up with 12 man chasing group including Halpin, Seward and Burridge. Team Mack rode hard last lap securing Masters 60+ sweep of the podium . 1-Halpin, 2-Seward and 3-Tom Burridge. NICE JOB GENTLEMEN!

Team MACK started with one rider in this event, Dave Seward
Race Report: by Dave Seward

Masters 60+
The race took place on a unique course set in a school parking lot, measuring just 0.6 miles with a challenging layout. One end featured a roundabout—manageable—while the other had two tight switchbacks that made pedaling impossible, adding a sketchy, breakaway-friendly element to the race.

In the master's category, which included riders over 60 divided into age groups, we had around 20 competitors, with 7 in the 65-69 bracket. Early on, OB Forbes from Mariner and his teammate Jonathan Card (who had just won Snake Alley 60+) broke away and stayed off the front. I kept an eye on my old teammates Dan Loch and Dale Eads from Brilliant Advice, along with Mark Gilmore from QCW. The race saw numerous attacks, especially before the switchbacks, which kept everyone spread out.
Feeling good at the start of the final lap, I was in a strong position when Mark Gilmore launched an attack just before the switchbacks. I responded immediately, bridging the gap to a 40-foot deficit coming out of the switchbacks. I was able to close most of the distance, reducing the gap to about 15 feet. I had a bit more speed than Mark but struggled a little in the switchbacks, which suited his skills better. Overall, I was pleased with my performance, feeling fitter despite less racing this season, and I’m already looking forward to next year.

Team MACK started with one rider in this event, Peter Megdal.
Race Report: by Peter Megdal.

One-mile criterium course for 50 minutes — mostly flat, featuring a 30-foot kicker and a sharp corner. 45 riders, 60+ and up open. Old men — but *fast* old men.
The plan was patience. Then, within the first three miles, the field split, and the front went without me. No panic — I bridged solo to the lead group of 22 and tucked in at the back, watching the clock.

26 mph average for the first half hour. No way I was donating watts that early. Then, around 30 minutes, the pace slowed to 24 — and that was my cue. I jumped, broke away cleanly, and went to work: **27 mph+ solo off the front for 20 minutes**.

One rider bridged across to me. He took exactly two pulls, then sat on my wheel for the rest of the race. Even *he* didn’t know there was someone already up the road.

Because there was. Somewhere in the early chaos — dropped riders everywhere, impossible to tell who was who — one guy had slipped off before me. A ghost. Most spectators didn’t even realize someone was off the front. I finished thinking I had won outright.

Here's the kicker: he started the move 20 seconds ahead — and by the finish, I had clawed back to within **4 seconds** of him. Not even knowing I was catching him. A couple more laps, and the story might have ended differently.

Second overall. **First in the 65+ age group.** 🥇

The result was a little sting — but my legs told the true story. I was the strongest in the bunch, controlled the decisive move, soloed at championship pace, and closed hard at the line.

Nationals are in three weeks. If this is my form going in — the field should be paying attention!

WAY TO GO Peter!!!!

2026 Tour of North Georgia (TONGA)
Lula, Georgia
5/29-31/2026

Category 4/5
5/30
Road Race
Team MACK’s Luke Schneider made a bold move on lap 2 of the 5-lap race launching an aggressive over-the-top attack that earned him a $20 sprint bonus. His daring break sparked a five-man group that maintained a strong pace all the way to the finish line, overtaking the earlier-starting Cat 3/4 riders who began five minutes before. In the final sprint, Luke powered through to claim a decisive victory, taking first place!

Time Trial
On Saturday, Luke also competed in the time trial finishing 9th, just 90 seconds off the pace—an impressive result for only participating that day.

Masters 50/60+

Team MACK entered seven riders in the Omnium, including Price Cooper and Michael Twigg (50+), and Jeff Bohanan, Kent Bostick, Thomas Burridge, James Halpin, and Thomas Soeder (60+). Facing strong competition from current and former National Champions, our riders held their own.

Masters 50+
5/29
Road Race
On May 29, during the 45-mile road race, Price and Michael showcased resilience on challenging climbs and fast descents, finishing 10th and 34th respectively. Despite battling a stomach virus, Michael performed admirably.

Masters 60+
5/29
Road Race
The 60+ squad worked cohesively amid numerous breakaway attempts. Ultimately, a solo rider finished a minute ahead, but James Halpin responded with an excellent lead-out, winning the field sprint for 2nd place with Jeff Bohanan 11th, Kent Bostick 13th, Thomas Soeder 14th and Thomas Burridge in 22nd.

Masters 50+
5/30
Road Race
A grueling 7-lap course with 4,000 feet of climbing, Price Cooper made a decisive move with two laps remaining, bridging into a race-winning break with four others. The group collaborated effectively, building a significant gap. Price pushed hard up the final climb and secured victory in the finish. Meanwhile, Michael Twigg finished 34th, having expended significant energy defending the chase.

Masters 60+
5/30
Road Race
The challenging 7-lap course, featuring 4,000 feet of climbing, proved tough once again for both the 50+ and 60+ categories. The team showed perseverance, but fatigue from the grueling climbs and heat was apparent. Jeff Bohanan placed 9th overall, with Kent Bostick close behind in 10th. Thomas Soeder finished 19th, Thomas Burridge took 20th, and James Halpin, who had been on the podium yesterday, unfortunately, did not finish.

Time Trial on May 30th, only the MACK riders competing for the Overall Omnium took part. In the 50+ group, Price Cooper finished 9th, and Michael Twigg was 20th. For the 60+ category, Kent Bostick secured 8th place, with Jeff Bohanan close behind in 14th.

Masters 50+
5/31
Criterium
This criterium was incredibly fast, and the heat made it particularly difficult. Price Cooper finished in a respectable 11th place, and Michael Twigg came home 26th—not bad, considering he was sick all weekend.

Masters 60+
5/31
Criterium
This criterium also had very warm temperatures and fast-paced action. We had James Halpin in 8th, Kent Bostick in 9th, Thomas Soeder in 14th, and Thomas Burridge in 15th, while Jeff Bohanan did not finish.

The McClintock (55+ Age Group)

Giorgio DiPaolo was the sole MACK starter in the grueling 100-mile gravel race, featuring challenging 12% gradient washed-out roads and a demanding course with 11,500 feet of elevation. Despite the cold, rainy weather reducing the field size, Giorgio pushed through to finish in 8:42:51, earning 6th overall and 2nd place in the 55+ category. This was Giorgio’s second attempt at this race—last year ending with a flat—and his first finisher. With this milestone, he's shifting his focus toward crits and GFs, eager to support and ride with his fellow team MACK members.

2026 Team MACK Elite Masters Rider Announcement

Peter Megdal 60+
Memphis, TN

Peter Megdal’s competitive cycling career spans more than four decades, reflecting a lifelong dedication to athletic endurance and technical precision. His trajectory in the sport is punctuated by a focus on the "hour record"—universally regarded as one of cycling's most prestigious and grueling benchmarks. As defined by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), this record measures the maximum distance a cyclist can cover on a velodrome track within sixty minutes from a stationary start. It is a solitary test of physical power and mental resilience that has been contested by the sport’s greatest legends.

While Megdal previously held the World mark for the 60–64 age group, that record has since been surpassed. However, he continues to dominate the masters circuit as the current formal holder of the UCI Masters World Hour Record for the 65–69 age category. In September 2025, at the high-altitude Bicentenario Velodrome in Aguascalientes, Mexico, Megdal delivered a historic performance by covering a distance of 47.220 km (29.34 miles).

This achievement shattered the previous 65+ world record by more than a full kilometer, underscoring the possibilities of high-performance aging. Megdal’s career remains a definitive example of how technical precision and long-term commitment can result in world-class achievements at the highest levels of the sport.

We welcome aboard Peter Megdal as a valued team member and sponsor!!
