Brush off your pumpkin carving skills, our annual Underwater Pumpkin Carving competition is returning on October 24th!

What: Get in the Halloween Spirit with Underwater Pumpkin Carving (bring a hallowed out pumpkin)! Where: Lake Phoenix, 1 Quarry Ln, Rawlings, VA 23876  When: Best pumpkin judged at 3:00pm Costs: $50, includes lake entry and lunch. Does not include air or equipment.

A diver suddenly becomes breathless. They start coughing. Everyone assumes it's exhaustion or a little water inhalation. But it could be something far more dangerous.

Swimming-Induced Pulmonary Edema (SIPE) is a potentially life-threatening condition that can affect scuba divers, freedivers, open-water swimmers and triathletes.

Although many people recover quickly once out of the water, delayed recognition can have fatal consequences.
