We will be remaining at the Boys and Girls Club Family Center located at 100 Acorn Street this week.

Due to this facility being a 4-lane pool, practice schedule times are the following:

Learn-to-Swim Session 2: 5:30pm-6:00pm
Level 1: 6:00pm-6:45pm
Level 2: 6:45pm-7:30pm
Level 3 AND Level 4: 7:30pm-8:30pm

Hello Sharks Families,

This message is to provide an update about pool location.

Unfortunately, we are still receiving very limited timeline information from Springfield Public Schools. We will be operating on a week-by-week schedule until we get more solid information about when we can return to Sci-Tech.

For the week of Monday, October 5th through Friday, October 9th, we will be remaining at the Boys and Girls Club Family Center located at 100 Acorn Street.

Due to this facility being a 4-lane pool, we will need to adjust the practice schedule to the following:

Learn-to-Swim Session 2: 5:30pm-6:00pm
Level 1: 6:00pm-6:45pm
Level 2: 6:45pm-7:30pm
Level 3 AND Level 4: 7:30pm-8:30pm

Coaches are working hard to make sure that practices, despite needing to be shortened, will still be challenging and high quality to help swimmers build their skills. We appreciate your patience as we navigate this challenge.

We will temporarily move to the Boys & Girls Club Family Center (BGCFC), 100 Acorn St., Springfield, beginning Tuesday, September 22 through Friday, October 2.

🏊🏽‍♀️ Pre-Season Schedule

• 5:30–6:00 PM: Drop-in tryouts
• 6:05–6:35 PM: Learn-to-Swim 1A
• 6:40–7:10 PM: Learn-to-Swim 1B
• 7:15–8:30 PM: Clinics

Clinics:
• Individualized Training: Sept. 22–25
• Starts, Turns & Finishes: Sept. 28–Oct. 2 — programming will focus more on turns and finishes since there are no starting blocks.

🚫 Springboard Diving Clinic is cancelled because the facility does not have a diving board. Families registered for this clinic will receive direct communication from SSSC.

🚗 Building Access & Facility Rules

• Please park in the fenced lot next to BGCFC and watch carefully for children in the parking lot.
• Ring the doorbell to the right of the main entrance for building access.
• ALL guardians and swimmers must sign in at the BGCFC front desk.
• Once inside the pool area, check in with an SSSC board member.
• Only water is permitted in the pool area and locker rooms.
• Please keep the facility clean — we are guests!
• SSSC has access only to the pool area and locker rooms. All other areas are off limits.

Hello all,

Sending out this message to provide an update about our permit and location situation.

SSSC has plans in place to make a temporary move to the pool Boys and Girls Club Family Center (located at 100 Acorn Street, Springfield, MA 01109 - right behind AIC's track). The pool at this location is 4 lanes and does not have blocks or a diving board, so coaches will make necessary adjustments to programming to accommodate this.

We are in the process of finalizing this agreement with the Boys and Girls Club Family Center, so the TENTATIVE plan is:

There will be NO SSSC activities TODAY Monday, September 21 so that the board and coaches can finalize plans and agreements and move necessary equipment

Pre-season will shift to start on Tuesday, September 22 and will go through Friday, October 2. During this time:

Drop-in tryouts will run from 5:30pm-6:00pm

Learn-to-Swim 1A will run from 6:05pm-6:35pm (9 potential lessons)

Learn-to-Swim 1B will run from 6:40pm-7:10pm (9 potential lessons)

Clinic 1: Individualized training will run from

9/22-9/25 from 7:15pm-8:30pm (4 potential clinic days)

Clinic 2: Starts, turns, and finishes clinic will shift to focus more on turns and finishes due to the lack of access to blocks and will run from 9/28-10/2 from 7:15pm-8:30pm (5 potential clinic days)

The Springboard Diving clinic will be cancelled due to the lack of access to a diving board - members signed up for this clinic will receive additional direct communication from SSSC

The regular season will shift to begin on Monday, October 5
The registration link for the Fall/Winter 2026-27 Competitive Season will be posted/released on Tuesday, 9/22 as long as our agreement with the Boys and Girls Club Family Center is finalized
It is our hope that by the start of the regular season (10/5), we will have clearer information from the City of Springfield and Springfield Public Schools regarding a timeline for return to our home location of Sci-Tech.
Once our agreement with the Boys and Girls Club Family Center has been finalized, we will send out another notification. If anything changes, we will ALSO send out a notification.

We will update the calendar to reflect schedule changes AFTER we finalize the agreement with the Boys and Girls Club Family Center on Monday.
