APBA Inboard Racing

You're not going to want to miss the Governor's Cup Regatta on Grand Lake this Saturday and Sunday!
This incredible event is FREE to the public and promises one of the most exciting weekends of the summer. This year, Celina is hosting the American Power Boat Association (APBA) Eastern Divisional Championship on Saturday, bringing approximately 60 race teams and boats from across the country to Grand Lake. Sunday's racing will feature the prestigious Governor's Cup competition.
Fans will enjoy everything from 100+ mph hydroplanes to the thunderous Grand National Hydroplanes, along with a special exhibition appearance by an Unlimited Hydroplane. Add in food vendors, craft vendors, car displays, and family-friendly activities, and there's something for everyone.
Bring a lawn chair, find a spot along Lakeshore Drive, and experience one of Ohio's premier powerboat racing events right here on Grand Lake. Racing begins at noon both days, with practice laps starting around 10:00 a.m.

Your Inboard Eastern Divisionals are this weekend in Celina, OH!! Hot off the tail of Inboard Nationals in Decatur, IL is a very unique opportunity to have two title races in the same area and in close time frame. 1. It is mandatory that all Events(s) must be registered through the Trackside Application

2. When your Event is purchased: Additional steps must be followed to be completely registered. At this point you have only purchased a ticket.
3. Navigate back to your main Toolbar. ( Events/Garage/Licenses/Profile/etc)
4. Choose My Events Tab
Click View and Manage
Choose Complete Check In
COMPLETE ALL SECTIONS
- Sign the Waiver - Bottom Of Form
- Sign the Entry Form -Bottom of Form
- Fill out Tech Form
- Upload License or Picture ID
Update CheckIn

The Wave From the Dock

I used to think I was watching history.

Now I realize I was watching people.

As a boy, I stood along shorelines and docks, looking up at men who seemed larger than life. I knew their boats before I knew their names. I knew the colors, the numbers, the engines, the sound each one made across the water.

We all had our favorites.

The Buccaneer.

The K-Boats.

The little boats hopping across rough water as if they were alive.

And the drivers.

When they won, we won.

When they lost, we felt it too.

A broken engine could ruin a weekend. A bad turn could end a race. Sometimes the water reminded everyone that it demanded respect. The cost of racing was never hidden from those who paid attention.

But that was part of belonging.

The victories belonged to everyone.

So did the disappointments.

I remember a wave from a driver more than I remember race results.

I remember being invited closer instead of pushed away.

I remember men and women who carried themselves with quiet generosity, sharing their passion with anyone willing to listen.

They probably never knew what it meant to a child.

To them it was another race.

Another weekend.

Another kid asking questions.

To me it was a world.

A place where ordinary people did extraordinary things, not because they were famous or important, but because they cared deeply about something and welcomed others into it.

The years have carried many of them away now.

Some boats sit silent.

Some names are spoken less often.

But when I think of that time, I don't remember standings or trophies.

I remember a wave from the dock.

The smell of fuel on the wind.

The feeling that I belonged.

And the people who made sure I did.
