If you’re looking for something to do this evening, I highly recommend Copper Coin Ballet Company’s ROCKBALLET - tonight, Saturday, September 12, at 8:00pm at The Muni.
I know, firsthand, that seeing a beautiful and energetic dance performance on stage (with a live band!) is always inspiring for our young dancers; and I would love to see the audience full of DAS students and families.
Several of our instructors, students, and alumni have contributed to this incredible production. Mrs. Julie is CCBC’s Artistic Director and has curated every artistic aspect of the show; I (Mrs. Gina) am one of CCBC’s Associate Artistic Directors and also choreographed one of the pieces in the show; Mr. Payton is performing a hip hop dance as a guest performer with two of his commercial dance colleagues; DAS alumni Olivia Pennell and Analysse Vance each choreographed a piece for the show and are performing tonight too; DAS alumni Meghan Loman will be performing an aerial silks piece and a contemporary ballet pas de deux; and DAS students Ella Barrientos, Makenna Budde, Sanaia Cole, Blake Davis, Sarah Ducaji, Hadley Gillis, Mercy Hanlon, Mary Kate Hanlon, Juliet Hannah, Alice Liberman, Anna Liberman, Ally McAdamis, Atlas Phemister, Charity Romero, Arya Stimac, and Alaina Verduin are all performing in the show as Company dancers.
Tickets are available at the door!
AND THEN…
Sunday, September 13, at 12:00pm, at the Hoogland Center for the Arts, CCBC will be holding OPEN AUDITIONS for extra cast roles in The Nutcracker.
The Nutcracker will be performed December 5 & 6 at the UIS Performing Arts Center; and we are so excited to be back on that grand stage!
Auditions are open to dancers age 8 and older. Registration is required. Visit CCBC’s website at coppercoinballet.org for more info and the audition form.
If you have any questions, text me anytime. Thank you! ~ Mrs. Gina
