Our Chairman, David Kiley’s statement on the passing of NWBA Hall of Famer Wyman Davis:

“Wyman Davis, a member of the NWBA Hall of Fame Class of 2006, was part of the dynasty known as the Detroit Sparks. I had many battles with this warrior on the court. He was fierce and a class act. He was an enforcer while also being a great human being. RIP, my brother!”

Jim Glatch shares a hilarious moment shared with his fellow Class of 2026 inductee, Buddy Barnes, from a game day in Charlottesville, turning a heated moment on the sideline into a friendship that lasted for years.

“I’m appreciative of everything he has meant to not just me and my teams, but to the sport.”

“It was the commitment to get us to a court…we were out there in the heat playing wheelchair basketball on asphalt, on concrete, whatever we could find, because we loved the game.”

Rain or shine, Eric Barber and his teammates found a way to play the game they loved. From courts across Chicago to the Hall of Fame, that passion and commitment never changed.

“I’ve always thought that was a big part of what I was supposed to be doing as a college coach, recruiting kids and developing them as players, and hopefully developing them as adults. I’m very proud of each and every one of them.”

Jim Glatch’s impact goes beyond basketball, shaping students into leaders and successful professionals.

We are deeply saddened to hear the loss of Gary Woodring, Hall of Fame, Class of 2013. 💔

Please read HOF committee member and Hall of Fame, Class of 2024, Cheryl Vines’ statement below:

“Gary was a great player jn the 80s and 90s winning 4 National Championships with the Rollin’ Razorbacks and numerous medals with Team USA, in fact every time he went international, he won gold! I’m comforted that he’s hanging out in heaven with his mentors Coach Vines and the great Ed Owen!”

Buddy Barnes on gaining a whole new perspective by getting in a chair.

He didn’t just use it as a ref. He shared it, helping others see and appreciate the game differently.

“He who thinks he leads and has no followers is only taking a walk.”
