Mindset & Mutts

Life is better with the right mission, mindset, and mutt.

Operating as usual

This is exactly what I did yesterday, and it worked!

I was in a bad mood and had a lot on my mind. I got home from work and decided to get my walk done then as opposed to waiting due to the heat.

So I changed, put on my running shoes, and went out for a walk without my headphones to purposely have some quiet time except for the sounds of nature.

By the time I finished my 30 minute walk in the heat through my neighborhood, I felt like I accomplished something on my to-do list as well as had a clear head.

It is amazing how just getting out and walking can improve your mood and make you feel better overall.

So next time your mind is full of clutter, try going for a walk and see if you’re able to use that time alone to work through the thoughts in your head as well as getting in some bonus exercise time.

Today is that “someday.” 🙌🏻

Stop waiting and start doing. 👊🏻

Live now. 💙💚

I think about this often.

If I could go back to my younger years, what would I do differently?

A lot!

So in answering this question, my response would be, “Plan for your future self.”

What’s yours?

Happy birthday, America!!! 🎂 Wishing everyone a very happy and safe July 4th!! 🇺🇸🎆💥❤️💙

Anyone else like this?! 🙋🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️😂

Today we’re beginning the second half of 2024. It’s also a Monday and a new month. A perfect time to self reflect.

Are you on track with your goals?

Are you doing the things you promised yourself you’d do?

What are your daily habits and are they helping or hurting you?

What do you still want to accomplish by the end of 2024?

I’ve journaled on all of these questions and have taken an honest accessment of where I am and where I want to be by December 31, 2024. I suggest you do the same.

Let’s make the second half of 2024 as productive and as life changing as possible. That’s my plan, and I invite you to join me. 👊🏻

Great advice! 👊🏻🙌🏻

I’m personally working on all of them right now. I made a promise to myself that this “birth year” would be one of progress, and so far it has been.

So here’s to staying focused and working towards a life you love. 💙💚

I just got this book yesterday after I saw a friend posting about it. I love these types of books where you have a daily read or devotional to think about and then work through. As a someone who already journals and does daily gratitude writing each morning, this fits right into what I’m already doing.

This one today though…..wow!! I needed to read this! I’m not sharing this for any input or words to make me feel better, but this is me to a T! I don’t wear shorts much less a swimsuit. I don’t think I’ve put one on since 2016. I’m just not comfortable in them. I know it prevents me from doing a lot of fun things, and I wish I was more comfortable wearing one, but I’m just not. So I avoid anything that would have me wearing a swimsuit. And every summer I’m like, “Maybe next summer I’ll be where I want to be, so I finally feel comfortable in a swimsuit.”

We all have our hang ups and issues. And things like this help remind me that, yes, it’s all in my head and it’s my problem to work through. And I need to work through it. Because I’m missing out on doing fun things because of my own personal hangups of not having what society says is a “bikini body.” It doesn’t matter how much others say otherwise. It matters to me because I think that way…..right or not.

Even when we do the work to improve a lot of areas of our life and our inner thoughts, there will always be one or two (or more) things that will continue to be a struggle for us. I read and follow astrology, and all of my stuff lately keeps saying I need to let go of limiting thoughts and beliefs due to past wounds that are holding me back. Maybe this is it. I don’t know. But I do know this is and continues to be a work in progress for me.

So what areas of your life are being limited due to your own beliefs or thoughts? Something to think about. Let’s work through these bu****it beliefs and limiting thoughts together. 👊🏻

I found these bracelets online years ago and bought several for myself and as gifts for family and friends.

On one side is a pattern, so it just looks like a wrist band. On the other side, though, is a saying.

There are several to choose from, and I have a lot of them, but the one I’m wearing now says, “If it’s not a hell yes, it’s a hell no.”

And that is my motto right now. If it’s not in my best interest, something (or someone) I really want to give up my time for, or something that gets me closer to where I want to be….it’s going to be a no from me.

Sorry not sorry 👊🏻💙

And you can find these at shoplacle.com.

💙 It can be a long and challenging process, but inner healing is 100% necessary to be able to move forward and experience true happiness and love without baggage from the past. 💙

🔥👊🏻🙌🏻❤️ I have 100% been doing this, and it has made a huge difference to my mental health. Especially as I’m now sober and trying to slowly enter the dating world again. I refuse to change or accept certain things just so someone will like me. If they don’t, they aren’t for me.

Monday is always the perfect day to start or restart any habit or goal you’re working on.

Let’s get at it!! 👊🏻

I’ve been journaling and gratitude writing daily for years. For me it’s a perfect way to start and end the day….being thankful for what I have and reflecting on how my day went. I find it keeps me focused on the good things in my life and my goals.

Does anyone else do this? Or what is something you do daily to check in with yourself?

It’s the first Monday of a new month. Let’s do what you promised yourself you would do to reach those goals. 👊🏻💪🏻

How is it June already?! 😳🤷🏼‍♀️ Almost half way through 2024!

As we move into a new month, it’s always a good time to reflect on where you’ve been, what has worked for you, what hasn’t, what you still want to accomplish, and what you need to adjust in your daily routine to get there.

Use today to plan and reflect. To give gratitude for all you have and manifest what you want moving forward. Don’t just move aimlessly through another month hoping you’ll make progress. You have to focus and set goals as well as have steps in place to help you get to closer to where you want to be.

Let’s do the work and make June a month of being proud of all your accomplishments!!! 👊🏻

Let’s make it a great start to a new week! 👊🏻

All you need is one person or connection or idea to completely change your life. I don’t know about you, but that’s exciting to me and keeps me positive about the future! 💙🩶🤍🖤💚

I saw this and it really hit home. 👊🏻

I think this is maybe why I truly love teaching and motivating other on their health/wellness/fitness journeys as well as navigating the struggles with life as a whole and finding your way especially as you age and/or make big life changes.

Instead of lamenting and wishing some things would have been better and different as a child and young adult, because I will never play the victim role, I want to help others by sharing my knowledge and struggles as I’m still finding my way and new norm in my 50s.

Thanks for being in this journey with me.

A fourth of the way through the year. 🙌🏻 Still plenty of time to set and reach a few goals. What’s on your list?

For me this month it’s:
*read daily
*30 minutes of some type of exercise/movement daily
*hit my protein and water goals daily
*remember to take my vitamins/supplements
*complete one home project this month

I feel when I list out my goals, I’m more likely to complete them.

So here’s to a new month and checking things off the to-do list. 👊🏻

Have you ever analyzed your whole life in 15 minutes on your way to work in your car because of hearing a certain song? 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

I did the other day when Journey’s “Faithfully” came on the radio. It made my mind go immediately back to high school. And since my mind goes in all kinds of directions once it starts spinning, I thought about high school and after high school and what would I change and if I did this differently this would be different and where would I be now if I made other life choices on college and degrees and jobs and relationships, etc.

So pretty much in that 15 minute drive, my whole life was dissected and analyzed. And yes I would go back and change ALOT, and no I know I can’t go back and change any of it. So my only choice is to live with the choices I made and try to do the best I can with the choices and information I have in front of me moving forward.

I am truly grateful for the life I have despite wishing a lot of things were different. At the time I made those choice, I thought they were the right ones for me. And maybe they were compared to the alternatives I had at the time. I’ll never know.

So here’s to no regrets because I can’t change them anyway. And to continuing to try and make the right choices going forward. That’s all I can do. Oh and never give up on trying to find my happily ever after ending before I actually reach the end. 🙏🏻

Don’t stay stuck.

Don’t stay stagnant.

Create a new good habit.

Stop a bad habit.

Let go of limiting thoughts and actions.

Make a change for the better and see how much more rewarding your life can be! 💙💚

3 is my favorite number 3️⃣💙 Let’s see what great things are manifested this month! 👊🏻🙏🏻

One of my “goals” this year was to stop using filters in my selfies. To just use angles or natural lighting that was more flattering but to not use SnapChat or other filters to make my skin look better or to make me look younger.

Sounds trivial, and honestly I don’t care if others use filters, but for me I’m trying to be more accepting of myself as I’m aging. And believe me it’s been tough to do so the past few years. More wrinkles have appeared, more sagging has started happening, my eyes look more tired, and my skin just doesn’t look as smooth and as tight as it once did. You know it’s eventually going to happen…you’re going to age and look like you’re aging….but man when it happens it’s tough and it sucks!

But instead of hiding age with filters, I’m trying to focus more on doing all the right things to take care of my skin the best I can. And I’m really trying to work on mentally accepting myself for the other great things I have going for me in my life and not putting so much focus on how much older I now look and making that affect my self worth.

So here’s to no filters, more self confidence, and aging as gracefully as I can because it’s happening whether I like it or not.

*pic with no filter but good natural lighting from a window and a more flattering angle. 😉

Happy February! ♥️

I love the first day of the month. It's a great time to reflect on the previous month. What moved you closer to your goal, and what isn’t working for you? What should you continue doing, and what needs to change?

It’s also a great time to set a new goal for the upcoming month. What do you want to accomplish in the next 28 days? What daily habits do you need to establish to help you reach that goal? What habits do you need to quit?

Take some time today to reflect and plan and let’s make February a successful month. 👊🏻

First two books of the year finished. 👊🏻📚 Would definitely recommend both of them. “Stop Doing That Sh*t” is a follow up to his book “Unf*ck Yourself” which I read last year and would also recommend. And I really liked “The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari”! Great advice on how we should live our life and how it’s never too late to change.

Now on to “The 5th Agreement” which is a follow-up to “The Four Agreements” which I’ve read twice and highly recommend everyone reads!

It’s the small steps in the right direction everyday that will get you to where you want to go. 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻

As Jim Rohn said, “You’re the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”

If your surroundings are negative, you’ll tend to be negative. If those around you are positive and striving for goals, you’ll liking be doing the same.

Right now a lot of people are setting goals and wanting to make changes. I’m not saying dump your family and friends if they’re always negative and complaining (though you can if you want to! 😬), but try to surround yourself more with those who will motivate and inspire you to better your life! Get a strong support system!

I hope all of you have an amazing 2024 and reach whatever goals you’re setting for yourself....big and small!

A new year

A new month

A new week

Let’s start writing that amazing, page-turner book!!

Goodbye 2023…..It’s time for a new story! 🖤

Merry Christmas from me and the crew! 🎄🎁🐾🎄

💯 the truth 👊🏻

You have to not only want to change but be truly ready to change.

Be ready to do the work.
Be ready to say no to things and people.
Be ready to alter your habits.
Be ready to live a different norm.
Be ready to start or stop certain things to get to where you want to be.
And be ready to keep going after the initial motivation fades.

I’ve been there and I know. You can desperately want something to be a certain way. But until you’re truly ready to make the necessary changes, you’ll never get to that desired place.
