We are excited about using a Husky Lens this season. We have seen questions in forums and some solutions that seem overly complex. So here's a little video explaining how we connected our Husky Lens to our Control Hub. Hope it helps - if you have questions or need help - please reach out. Shear Force had a CRAZY regionals meet on Saturday. At one point we dropped from 1st in the league down to 15th!
Then we climbed back to finish in 7th. The 1st place team (Spaghettified) picked us as their 1st round draft pick. Then their robot broke (yikes!), and we carried them for a while in the playoffs.
The refs were still calculating the final score of the last match and the preliminary score was a difference of 1 point! The head ref hit completeā¦The screen announces our victory! The crowd erupts in chears! Then they quickly tell us⦠oops, that was a mistake, you lost! š
So then the team waited through about an hour of other awards getting distributed to finally learn we won the coveted āinspire awardā. This award for those not familiar is sort of a best all around award on many levels of the FIRST program.
Soā¦. After lots of ups and downs, a couple of ulcers, a little humbling, and a touch of groveling. We are STATEBOUND!!!!
Now we have to figure out how to avoid those penalties!!

Yesterday was a LONG but GREAT day for Shear Force! We did a double header meet - meaning we ran 12 matches! We won 11 of them - our autonomous (think autopilot) was almost flawless... It was a great day for Lil' Gerry.
I could post pictures of dancing, laughing, collaborating, robot driving... all kinds of good stuff.
But I am going to post this one picture - the moment I was most proud of my team for. The Robot broke - badly.... two servo's had to be replaced, and they were in different spots of the arm mechanism.
Between matches 4 and 7, one servo was replaced. Then they ran match 7 by pushing cones around the field (and won?)! Then immediately back to the pits where they swapped out the second servo. They got the robot back together and threw it out for match 9, UNTESTED, with seconds to spare and it WORKED! The tension in the pit was of epic proportions. The TEAMWORK was amazing! But they did it! EVERYONE of them was engaged and they all rejoiced.
