Hello everyone,

Our 2023 Summer season Allstar Game is coming up on Saturday December 2nd and Sunday December 3rd. If you would like to enter this event, it's not too late! You must call in your entry if you would like to enter (636-940-9091). Reminder, the entry fee is only $20 to enter, and the tournament starts at 12 noon for both days. Side pot activity will start at 10AM. Another reminder, its double elimination, race to 2, and you face your skill level all the way into Sunday.

Once you get to Sunday, any loss you had on Saturday gets erased and you start over again with double elimination for Sunday. We are expecting over 100 entries for this event with anywhere from 8 to 12 places being paid out. Our last Allstar Game singles tournament produced a total money payout of $10,700 which broke records. We would love to match or exceed those numbers. We look forward to seeing all of you on December 2nd at Kenny's bar and grill.

Thank you,

Hello Everyone,

we have some huge announcements to share for our upcoming Fall 2023 season and beyond. We at Missouri 8 Ball League pride ourselves in having the biggest payouts of any traveling league in Missouri. As all of you can see from our last tournaments as well as what we've accomplished in payouts over these last few years from all of our tournaments, every tournament we have keeps getting higher and bigger then the last one. The reason for this is due to positive league growth (more teams, higher payouts) and we couldn't be happier with the results. We have all the faith and confidence in the world that will continue to happen into the future because we give back the most to the player of any traveling league in missouri. With that said, we want to give back more. Our goals is to give back as much as we can while still being able to make a living for ourselves, that way all of us does well from this wonderful game we all love.

Inflation these last few years has made that difficult from our end, as well as making it difficult for everyone. Since the year 2020 we've had to make a lot of changes, that everyone is now seeing come to fruition and has made the league better overall. All of our decisions that we make are what we think is best for you the pool player and for the league overall. Because of this, it's time to make another change for the better of the league and for all of our players overall going forward. Because of these reasons, that is why we are announcing that the weekly league fees will be increasing from $32 per team, to $36 per team. What does this mean for you the pool player? It's simple, it means more money for you. The new money breakdown will be as follows:

Weekly Team cost $36

Tournament - $11.40 ($1 increase)
(What this means for you:) It will make our record breaking tournament payouts even more record breaking. It will take our tournaments to new payouts never seen before. We want that for you the pool player, and this will allow us to get closer to our ultimate goal for our tournaments which is to beat every tournament payout out there.

Division Pay back $15.40 ($2 increase) Paid per win - $30.80
(What does this mean for you:) This will provide more money for you in division payouts with every match win. It's the same ratio difference everyone is used to now, it's just increased to keep that same difference and provide a bigger division payout overall.

Trophy Cost - $1 (No change)
Trophy costs won't change, however they have increased substantially over these last few years but we have been eating the extra cost and will continue to do so.

League cost - $8.20 ($1 increase)
This is due to higher cost of living (inflation).

Overall Breakdown:
Tournament = $11.40
Division payback = $15.40
Trophies = $1
League Cost = $8.20

Total team cost = $36

As you can see, this is an increase for everyone's opportunity and provides more money for everyone across the league. Going into our 2023 Fall Session as well as our 38th year in 2024, we've only done a small handful of increases over these past 38 years. We know that with this increase to $9 per player, we also are aware that other leagues are charging more per player and per team. Some of the other nation wide leagues are charging $10 per player, while other nation wide leagues are charging $11 per player as well as smaller local leagues. We at Missouri 8 Ball League want to eventually get up to that price point that the other leagues are charging per player and show how much more money we can really pay out when comparing apples to apples.

That is our ultimate goal for everyone that has supported us all of these wonderful 38 years. However, we know that time is not now, and an increase to that point ($10 per player) won't happen for awhile. Will it happen eventually? Yes, that is our ultimate goal, and it would be our last increase that we ever make. We don't know how high everything will be in the future, we just know how everything is today. And we know these decisions are necessary for today and for the future.

We will be posting an update on these new payouts and what you will be playing for Fall 2023 in these next few weeks after the season begins and all the numbers are finalized.

We thank you all for your support, we wouldn't be here without it.

For this year 2023, we are expecting even higher payouts for the players because of positive league growth and we couldn't be more excited. UPDATED:
Hello Everyone,

we wanted to take this time to share some HUGE ANNOUNCEMENTS regarding the upcoming year 2022 and beyond. First, our 2021 Fall session Allstar Game and Team Championships are coming up:

Allstar Game:
Saturday March 5th and Sunday March 6th

Team Championships:
Saturday March 12th and Sunday March 13th

It's going to be 2 fantastic weekends and we can't wait to see you all there. Reminder, the team championships are both 4 player and 5 player, 2 different championships, and if you play on 2 teams, both 4 and 5 player, you can play in both championships. Now for the first huge announcement. As all of you are aware, we went back to having both 4 and 5 player teams for this current Fall 2021 session. We felt it was the right time to go back to the way things were, the way they always were. Unfortunately it has come to our attention that the way things used to be might not be the way they need to be now and going forward. Simply put, the 5 player team numbers didn't turn out the way we anticipated them.

In addition, a great deal of the 5 player teams we do have are having issues getting done at a decent time and can't stay out past midnight and be at their work the next morning. Other issues for the 5 player teams include roster issues (getting the 5th player to show up for the match), length of match, etc. The prize money for the 5 player championship coming up will still be very good, however it won't be as big as the 4 player championship because of the lack of teams. And at Missouri 8 Ball League we pride ourselves in paying out the most money of any traveling league in Missouri, and we as a league don't want our 5 player teams to miss out on more prize money just because they happen to play 1 night a week that happens to be 5 player. This is why starting Spring 2022 and beyond we are going back to 4 player teams across the league starting at both 5:15 and 7:15 time slots. This will allow all teams whether they play one night a week or multiple nights a week to have a shot at the most prize money come tournament time. But that's not all! Here is the second huge announcement.

Because we are going back to all 4 player team across the league, we also want to show our appreciation to all of our captains that build these teams and have been with us since the beginning. So to all of our captains, we are pleased to announce that starting in Spring 2022 and beyond, if you are a captain of multiple teams (2, 3 or 4) and more then one of your teams make it to the tournament, the captain will be allowed to PLAY ON ALL OF THEIR TEAMS. Example: If 3 teams make it, the captain of the 3 teams (and only the captain) can play on all 3 teams. Now when the same captains teams face off against each other, the rules will stipulate that the captain must sit out when facing his own team, and if one of the teams ends up short a player because of this, then both teams must play 3 on 3. These new changes will take care of any player shortages that arise due to the tournament being all 4 player. But we're not done! This 3rd huge announcement is regarding the Allstar Game.

Since our beginnings in 1986, you have always had to earn your way onto the Allstar Game by making the Allstar list within your own division. However, we know that there are so many weaker teams with weaker players that never get that chance because they can't make the lists. This is why we are pleased to announce that starting in Spring 2022 and beyond, if you are on a team that is in last place or has no allstars on the lists, we will allow your team to CHOOSE ONE REPRESENTATIVE to go to the Allstar Game, and that one representative CAN CHOOSE A FRIEND (that's a league member) to go with them. This also applies to ALL ALLSTARS, they can also choose a friend that's a current league member who did not make the lists. This will create more entries for the Allstar Game as well as more excitement.

If you can't represent your team at the team championships, well now you can represent them at the Allstar Game at the very least. If you've never experienced the Allstar Game before, you are in for a treat. We look forward to seeing all the new faces. Well, that's all for now. We can't thank all of enough for your support, and we hope all of you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2022!

08/16/2021

Hello everyone,

we wanted to take this time to remind everyone that our 2021 Fall Session is coming up:

Opening night is Monday September 13th

We would also like to remind everyone that the 5 man teams are coming back for the Fall and Spring sessions. This means that if you play at 7:15 time slots, those time slots will be going back to 5 man teams, and if you play in the 5:15 or 6:00 (Happy Hour) time slots, they will remain 4 man teams. This means that we will be having 2 CHAMPIONSHIPS AGAIN just like before, and if you play on 2 teams (both 4 and 5 man) you can PLAY IN BOTH CHAMPIONSHIPS. The 5 man teams will also be going to $8 per player just like the 4 man teams are paying now, so just a quick recap the prices are as follows:

4 Player team cost = $32
5 Player team cost = $40

That extra $5 for the 5 man teams will also be going towards their championship as well. It's finally time to get back to the way things were, and we can't thank you enough for your support in helping us get there.

07/20/2021

05/15/2021

Hello everyone,

we wanted to take this time to share some updates and some reminders for this upcoming 2021 Summer session and beyond. First and foremost we can't thank all of you enough for your continued support. We are eternally grateful for these last 35 years that you've given us. It's an honor to serve your league since 1986. This last Spring session we just had was the first full Spring session in over a year. We hope all of you are continuing to be well throughout all of this. Over this last year we had to make some pretty drastic changes to the way we've run the league in order to combat everything that went on throughout 2020. We went to 4 player teams across the board and limited the coaching rules in order to make sure everyone got done on time due to the past government restrictions.

It wasn't easy, however it was decisions that we had no choice but to make. Now the bars are thriving again, and are able to be open till normal closing time again and we couldn't be more happy then to see that. Since everything is starting to go back to the way it was, the way things used to be, we realized it's time for us to do the same thing. That's why we are pleased to announce that the 5 player teams are coming back.

Starting the Fall 2021 Session we will be back to having both 4-man AND 5-man teams for you to enjoy, play, and win outstanding prize money in. And speaking of prize money, don't forget our 2021 Spring session Allstar & Team Championships are coming up (Allstar Game: Sat. July 10th & Sun. July 11th, Team Championships: Sat. July 17th & Sun. July 18th.) That's only 9 weeks from now for the biggest tournament payouts we've had in over 20 years. Don't forget, we're paying out $9,000 1st place, $4,500 2nd place, and over $21,000 overall payout for 8 places. This is all due to the $4 increase from $28 to $32 and having the extra $4 going towards the Team Championships.

Now since the 5-man teams are returning in Fall 2021 we want their championship to be increased as well so they also have alot of money opportunities to play for. That is why their weekly fees will be going from $35 (the original price) to $40 (the 5-man teams new price) and that extra $5 will be going towards their championship. So to recap, here is what we're doing for Fall 2021:

4 - Player Team cost = $32 (extra $4 towards championship)
5 - Player Team cost = $40 (extra $5 towards championship)

2 championships and if your on a team that's in both, you can play in both championships just like before, only this time there's more money up for grabs for you to win. Also don't forget, we pay out division prize money too, getting paid per match win ($26.80 per win 4-man, and $33.50 per win 5-man). In addition, don't forget the Allstar singles tournament that adds over $1,200+ from the bar owners in addition to the entry fees. That's a lot of money added and we're the only league that does that for their players. Did I mention the entry fee for the Allstar tournament is only $20? And if you win Top Player you're entry fee is FREE?

It doesn't get any cooler then that. So if you're on the Allstar list for your division, don't forget to call in your entry or you can still sign-up through your packet in your entry envelope if you're team is in the playoffs. Now regarding this upcoming 2021 Summer session, it starts the week of June 7th. To all teams and players that play in West County area, we are looking for players for a team on Tuesday night 6:00pm start time to go in a traveling league with Fandangos, Schmoll's 8 Ball Lounge, and Jp's Eureka. It's a new night, and a new time slot for all south St. Louis area teams, and you may call us for more details if you're interested.

Also to all St. Charles players and teams, we are looking for players to play on Wednesday night 7:00pm. We are adding a new team for this night, however we still need one more to make 4. This 4th team will play with Moudy's, Redfish Bluefish, and Redbird's. Remember, the more teams and divisions we get, the more money you, the pool player can make. Remember, we pay out the biggest prize money in the St. Louis Metro area. No other leagues can match our tournament payouts and division payouts for the price we charge. Only 3 weeks left before Summer session starts on June 7th. We again thank you so much for your support and can't wait to see you all this summer.

01/15/2021

Attention all Captains:
To all of our captains and players, we hope everyone is continuing to stay healthy and well through these very difficult times, and we can't tell you how eternally grateful we are of you supporting us and our bar families throughout all of this. As some of you may have heard through us or the grapevine we had to make the very difficult decision to cancel the 2019 Fall Tournaments that were scheduled to be played this month. We know you are very disappointed with this decision, and believe us, we are as well. Due to circumstances out of our control such as 5 months of shutdowns, a %40 reduction in teams, both due to Covid-19, as well as 19 tournament teams out of 52 not ready to play pool, it made the event impossible to have. With that said, because these events were cancelled, here is what we will be doing for all the players and teams that were a part of that event:

1. All 2019 Fall trophies and plaques will be ordered and given out.

2. The 2019 Fall Allstar Game entry fees will be refunded:
Exception: If you qualify for this 2020 Fall session Allstar Game, and would like to apply your 2019 Fall Allstar Game entry towards that event, we will be more then happy to do that for you. Please call us to let us know if you would prefer to do that. If not, then you will receive a check back for that entry fee. There are 52 entries in total that will be refunded either as a credit or as a check depending on the individual players preferences.

3. The 2019 Fall Team Championship money will be paid out as follows:

4-Player
$10,444.80 / divided by / 28 teams
= $373.02 per team for the 28 teams

5-Player
$9,248 / divided by / 24 teams
= $385.33 per team for the 24 teams

Total paid out will be $19,692.80

This will be paid out on a team by team basis throughout the coming weeks ahead. A handful of teams have already been paid out, with more to follow in the coming weeks. We appreciate your patience and understanding through all of this, and we will be working with each team on a separate basis to accommodate their needs in a timely manner as best we can during this very difficult time.

With a 40% loss of teams due to the pandemic and the uncertainty of when they will return, we have come to the realization that the players and teams that are supporting us need more prize money to play for, now more then ever before. In order to accomplish this, for our upcoming Spring 2021 season and beyond we will be raising the team weekly fees from $28 per week to $32 per week. This extra $4 per team will all be going towards the team championships. The new money breakdown will be as follows:

$32 Weekly team breakdown:
$13.40 Division - no change
$10.40 Team Championships - $4 increase
$1 Trophy Cost - no change
$7.20 League Cost - no change
4 Player teams receive $26.80 per match win

This $4 increase towards the team championships will create massive tournament payouts that will be significant. This is dependent we hold our overall team counts, which we are anticipating, however here is a true example of the new payouts potential:

Based on 130 Teams (which is very low for us)
* 130 X $10.40 per team = $1,352 per week towards tournament
* $1,352 X 16 weeks = $21,632 not including playoff weeks paid in

With a tournament weekend payout around $25,000 this will allow us to have around a $10,000 first place payout paying 8 places. This total weekend payout will only grow more significantly higher as we start to return to normal and get our overall team counts back to normal. We are very excited for this potential prize money for our teams to experience and we can't wait to have it come true for you in our 2021 Spring season and the coming years. We are eternally grateful for your continued support and it is an honor to serve your league these last 35 years and beyond.
