svarūpāvasthānam
(abiding in one’s true nature)
From the very beginning, our motto at Shores Yoga has been freedom to be.
When I opened the studio, I had a simple vision: to create a welcoming, lighthearted space where people could experience truly great yoga. But what does great yoga really mean?
At the time, many studios placed a heavy emphasis on the physical practice and how poses should look. Through my own personal practice, I realized that yoga offers so much more. What lies beyond the physical has always felt far more important to me.
I wanted to teach the qualities that transform a yoga practice into a lifelong path: mindfulness, conscious breathing, balance, ease, and self-awareness, rather than striving for the perfect pose. When we practice this way, we begin to discover a deeper kind of freedom. It is a freedom that comes from within.
That understanding became the heart of Shores Yoga and continues to guide our mission today. We are here to help people discover their own inner freedom that lives beneath the mind.
We envisioned a place where everyone could arrive exactly as they are. A place where they could soften, let go of expectations, and reconnect with their true nature. A sanctuary for restoration and healing, for peace and relief, and for a meaningful connection to something deeper.
A place that inspires and encourages growth while honoring that the path is not always easy, but it is always worthwhile.
This is the essence of svarūpāvasthānam, abiding in one’s true nature. It is the practice of coming home to yourself again and again. That is the heart of what we hope every person experiences when they walk through our doors.

Intuitive Energy Healing Massage is a collaborative healing experience that blends massage therapy, energy work, and intuitive guidance. As the practitioner works with the body’s energy and tissues, intuitive messages and insights may emerge to support greater self-understanding and healing. Together, practitioner and client create a supportive space to gently explore and release tension, emotional holding patterns, energetic blockages, and the effects of past trauma. The session invites relaxation, awareness, and connection, helping clients feel more grounded, open, and aligned in body, mind, and spirit.
Meet your practitioner: I’m a Metaphysical Practitioner, trauma-informed spiritual coach, and holistic healing facilitator dedicated to helping others reconnect with their authentic selves. With a background in massage therapy, herbalism, holistic health, and metaphysical science, I blend spiritual guidance with grounded healing practices to support emotional, energetic, and personal transformation. My work focuses on trauma recovery, intuition development, nervous system healing, and empowering individuals to reclaim their voice, purpose, and inner peace.

At Shores Yoga, part of our mission is to cultivate an inclusive and welcoming space for everyone in our community. In celebration of Juneteenth, we are honored to invite all members of our community, including people of color and our neighboring communities to join us for a special FREE yoga class. We look forward to coming together to celebrate freedom, unity, wellness, and connection.
On June 19, 1865, nearly two years after President Abraham Lincoln emancipated enslaved Africans in America, Union troops arrived in Galveston Bay, Texas with news of freedom. More than 250,000 African Americans embraced freedom by executive decree in what became known as Juneteenth or Freedom Day. With the principles of self-determination, citizenship, and democracy magnifying their hopes and dreams, those Texans held fast to the promise of true liberty for all.
Join us Friday June 19th for a FREE all levels Slow Flow at 4:45pm. Please pre-register to join.

A Supportive Teen Series for Connection, Creativity & Everyday Well-Being
Being a teenager today can feel like a lot. School, friendships, expectations, social media, and pressure can make it hard to slow down, breathe, and be yourself.
This 4-week series offers a relaxed space to pause, move, reflect, and explore simple practices that support everyday well-being.
Each week, we’ll explore ways to feel more grounded, manage stress, build self-awareness, and connect more authentically with ourselves and others. Teens will leave with practical tools they can use in daily life.
Sessions may include mindful movement and gentle yoga-inspired practices, breathwork and grounding techniques, mobility, balance and strength, creative expression, music, reflective prompts, and open conversation. Throughout the series, teens will also build a personal accordion-style journal using mixed media, imagery, words, and collected materials that come together over the 4 weeks into a personal keepsake of their experience.
This is not a typical yoga class, therapy group, or school program. It’s a welcoming space to show up as you are. Move, create, laugh, reflect, connect, and simply take a break from the constant noise of everyday life.
No yoga or artistic experience is needed, just curiosity and openness.
Come as you are.

Slow Burn Hot Vinyasa 🔥 A strength-focused vinyasa class that combines intentional pacing, long holds, and controlled movement to build endurance, stability, and deep muscular engagement. Expect slow transitions, time-under-tension sequences, and mindful repetition designed to challenge both body and breath. This heated flow emphasizes form, core activation, mobility, and resilience - creating a powerful balance of strength, focus, and fluidity.
The room is gently heated to around 85-90°F during cooler months to support muscle warmth and mobility. We recommend taking a few foundational classes (3–5) beforehand to feel comfortable with the flow.
