Supported Bridge doesn't have ONE right way to do it.

Want more comfort?
Try a blanket, bolster or ball.

Want to explore a little more?
Extend a leg. Reach your arms overhead. Play with your foot position.

And no, one version isn't more “advanced” than another.

The best version is the one that works for your body TODAY.

Because at Hippie, we don't make the body fit the pose.

We make the pose fit the body.

This little detail makes a BIG difference.

Your prop goes under your sacrum, not your low back.

Your sacrum is the broad, flat bone at the base of your spine, right above your tailbone. That's the solid area we want the prop supporting.

If the prop is too high and sitting in the soft part of your low back, move it down toward your butt a bit.

Think support the pelvis, not the spine.

And remember, higher isn't better. The goal is to find a position where you feel supported enough to actually let your body relax.

Because if you're fighting the pose the whole time, we've kind of missed the point.

Lie down.
Put a block under your hips.
Stay there.

That's pretty much it.

And that's the point.

Not every yoga pose needs to be more effort, more strength, more stretch, MORE anything.

Sometimes we let the block do the work.

Supported Bridge is our Pose of the Month for August.

Some bodies were never meant for hands and knees. That's not a limitation. That's just true. This September: Chair Yoga at Hippie Yoga. Not senior center yoga. Real practice, without the floor

Self-care isn’t candles and slow mornings. It’s also soreness, awkward schedules, and a weird wave of guilt for protecting your own time.
None of that means it’s not working. It means it is.
