Widen your feet left to right in a runner's lunge. More stable. Nicer on the hips. Try it."

You're already moving this summer. Walking, gardening, golf.
Yoga isn't here to replace any of that. It's what keeps all of it feeling good.
Golf tightens one side of your body every single swing. Gardening compresses your lower back and hips for hours. Walking is great and it doesn't do much for rotation or lateral stability.
Yoga fills in what everything else leaves out. That's the long game.
The mat is here all summer. Come when you can.

First tip to help make runner’s longer more accessible and get the most out of the pose.

June's pose of the month is runner's lunge.
It shows up in almost every class. And it's one of the poses where a few small setup choices change the whole experience.
Blocks from the start, not as a modification. Wider stance. Back heel lifted.
Here's what changes when you set up differently: your upper body relaxes, your hips square up, and you actually feel it in your hip flexor instead of somewhere you weren't expecting.
We're going deep on this one all month. Come try it.

Your legs are shaking in Warrior II. Here's what that actually means.
That shake is muscle fatigue. Your body is recruiting more muscle fibers to meet the demand you're placing on it. It's not a warning signal. It's a working signal.
Here's how to tell the difference:
Fatigue -- burning, shaking, heavy, the strong urge to quit. Builds gradually. Stays general. This is your body getting stronger. Stay one more breath.
Pain -- sharp, sudden, specific. Announces itself fast. Pinching, pulling, shooting. This is your body asking you to stop. Listen to it.
Most of us were taught that discomfort means quit. It doesn't. It means pay attention.
Short term fatigue builds long term resilience. The muscles shaking now are the ones keeping you out of chronic pain later.
Learn the difference. It changes everything about how you practice.

You do not have to be a yogi to show up at Yoga at the Garden.
You don't need experience. You don't need the right outfit. You don't need to know what a Warrior II is (though by now you've seen it all over our feed).
You just need a mat and a Sunday morning.
This is the event we designed for the person who's been curious but hasn't walked through the studio door yet. Outside. Free. No commitment. Just come and see what it feels like.
You know someone like that. So do we. Tag them.
