Albert Einstein's quote, "Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better," resonates deeply with me. Nature shows us the truth in the simplest way: everything is either growing or dying. Trees, plants, animals—they’re all either reaching toward more life or slowly withering. This same principle applies to us. If we stop learning, challenging ourselves, or striving for something more, we start to decay inside, just like in nature.

Our minds and spirits need to keep growing to stay alive. Growth doesn’t just mean success—it’s about continuously evolving and pushing ourselves to discover new things, face new challenges, and keep expanding. If we aren’t learning or improving, we’re stagnant, and in that stagnation, we start to lose our energy, our aliveness. Just as nature never stops adapting and transforming, we need to keep growing.

I learned this firsthand when I found myself in a place where I wasn’t learning or pursuing any goals. I felt stagnant, unfulfilled, and unmotivated. It was like I was just existing, not really living. The lack of growth drained my energy and passion for life, and it was only when I started to challenge myself again, setting new goals and learning new things, that I began to feel alive and purposeful once more.

When we connect with this truth, it’s clear that growth is about fully engaging with life. It’s not just about achievement or reaching a goal; it’s about staying vibrant and alive. If we want to keep thriving, we need to nurture our curiosity, push past our comfort zones, and stay open to learning, just like nature keeps reaching for the light. Otherwise, like in nature, we slowly fade away.

Please let this really sink in and be grateful for everything in your life

Hiroyuki Sanada once said,

"There are those who want a swimming pool in their home, while those who have it barely use it."

Those who have lost a loved one miss them deeply, while others who hold them close often complain about them.

Who doesn't have a partner long for one, but who has it, sometimes doesn't value it.

He who is hungry would give everything for a plate of food, while he who has plenty complains about the taste.

The one who doesn't have a car dreams it, while the one who has it always looks for a better one.

The key is to be grateful, to stop looking at what we have and to understand that, somewhere, someone would give everything for what you already have and don't appreciate."

🚀 Training Update for the 62-mile Blue Bell Paddle Challenge! 🌊

During yesterday's training session I had a realization! This has been completely different from my last 13 years of paddleboard racing. 🏄‍♂️ In race training, I typically focus on intervals in zones 3, 4, and 5, but for the Blue Bell, I’m embracing zone 2.

This magical zone allows me to truly savor the beautiful surroundings I often overlooked during intense race training. It's given me a fresh perspective and reignited my love for paddleboarding! 🌅

Zone 2 training offers incredible benefits, including improved endurance, fat-burning efficiency, and enhanced recovery. It's a reminder of the joy of the journey—many of us get so caught up in the end goal that we forget to enjoy the process and have fun along the way!

I’m loving this new training approach and can’t wait to embark on the Blue Bell challenge this month! 💪✨

Suffering often stems from our expectations that life should unfold exactly as we want it to.

When I shifted my focus to accepting what is out of my control and concentrating on what I can control, my life changed drastically.

Embracing acceptance—not the desire for things to be different—creates true freedom and peace of mind!

This was beautifully written by poet and author Rupi Kaur.

These are lessons I have learned in my lifetime and lessons I have learned this past year.

I am grateful for the events that transpired this year, as difficult as it was, I would not have changed a thing. I learned more about myself, I learned unwavering patience, I learned to accept that which I could not control, I learned to love unconditionally regardless of past hurts, and I learned that life situations and people will show me where I am not quit free.

As it was said “Experience is the greatest teacher, as she first gives the test, then the lesson after”

This was truly the greatest and most difficult years of my life and I would not have changed a thing!

“It has been one of the greatest and most difficult years of my life. I learned everything is temporary. Moments. Feelings. People. Flowers. I learned love is about giving- everything- and letting it hurt. I learned vulnerability is always the right choice because it is easy to be cold in a world that makes it so very difficult to remain soft.

I learned all things come in twos: life and death, pain and joy, sugar and salt, me and you. It is the balance of the universe. It has been the year of hurting so bad but living so good, making friends out of strangers, making strangers out of friends.

We must learn to focus on warm energy, always. Soak our limbs in it and become better lovers to the world, for if we can't learn to be kinder to each other how will we ever learn to be kinder to the most desperate parts of ourselves.''- Rupi Kaur

If you haven't yet read The Alchemist, I highly encourage you to dive into this remarkable book. For those with teenagers, it’s a must-read—its lessons are not only incredibly powerful but can also be life-changing when applied.

The Alchemist offers timeless wisdom that inspires readers to live authentically, chase their dreams, and discover true fulfillment. These teachings have resonated with people around the globe, and I believe they can offer profound insights for anyone ready to embrace their personal journey.

Top 20 lessons from "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho:

1. Listen to your heart: Trust your intuition and follow your heart's desires.

2. Pursue your dreams relentlessly: Don't let obstacles or doubts deter you from pursuing what you truly want in life.

3. Life is a journey, not a destination: Enjoy the process of pursuing your dreams and learn from the experiences along the way.

4. Overcome fear: Fear often holds us back from reaching our full potential. Confronting and overcoming fear is essential for personal growth.

5. Discover your personal legend: Each person has a unique purpose or destiny to fulfill in life. Discovering and fulfilling this purpose brings fulfillment and meaning.

6. The universe supports you: When you're aligned with your personal legend, the universe conspires to help you achieve your goals.

7. Failure is part of the journey: View failure as a learning opportunity and a stepping stone toward success.

8. Trust the process: Have faith that everything happens for a reason and that setbacks are part of a larger plan.

9. Manifest your desires: Your thoughts and beliefs have the power to shape your reality. Maintain a positive mindset and visualize success.

10. Embrace uncertainty: The unknown can be scary, but it's also where growth and opportunity lie.

11. Stay true to yourself: Don't compromise your values or beliefs for the sake of others. Authenticity is key to living a fulfilling life.

12. Find beauty in simplicity: Sometimes, the simplest things in life bring the greatest joy and fulfillment.

13. Live in the present moment: Don't dwell on the past or worry about the future. Focus on being fully present in the here and now.
