Jeffco Billygoats Mountain Bike Team Mountain bike team for kids in grades 6-12, in Jefferson and South St Louis County. JeffersonCo Composite, Mehlville Panthers & Lindbergh Flyers.

All abilities and skill levels. Season runs btwn July 1 - Nov 1
For info, email [email protected] The JeffCo Billygoats is a mountain biking team for 6th thru 12th grade riders of all abilities and skill level. Our goal is to provide a positive environment where riders of all abilities can develop strong body, mind and character through the sport of cycling. There is a pre-season from April 1

thru June 30, with the regular season starting July 1 thru Nov 1. Practices are normally held at Cliff Cave park

The Billygoats are a team in the Missouri Interscholastic Cycling League, which is under the leadership of NICA and provides high-quality, safe and fun mountain bike programs and events for middle and high school students that emphasize the value of participation, camaraderie, positive sporting behavior, and well-being over competition. We stress safety and fun. Practices are structured to emphasize skills and games in the early part of the season and then gradually focus more on riding the trails. The team is an XC (cross country) team, which means we keep our wheels on the ground and we don’t ride trails with any significant drops or features. Riding with a team is more fun and will provide an outlet for our athletes to get regular time on the trail and bond with like-minded teammates. Our coaches will provide technical training and guidance to help riders develop the skills to become lifelong cyclists. Training will help improve everyone’s overall fitness and skill level in a safe and fun environment.

Mountain biking requires the ability to always adapt. Changes in weather, terrain, route, etc.. So today we adapted mid ride when an athlete suggested we ride our bikes to get ice cream on this very hot day. It also showed us who is serious about competing, when some turned down the chance and stayed on the trail! Challenge by choice!

First race is in the books and it was a memorable but hot one. We saw the first ever Mehlville Mountain Biking Team and Lindbergh Flyers racers.

Race week! On Saturday, Jeffco riders should wear the blue jersey. Mehlville and Lindbergh kids can wear any Jeffco jersey Saturday.

Race day on Sunday, Mehlville and Lindbergh wear their school jerseys and Jeffco wears the white accented jersey.
