Of course, no superstar physique is made within one week. Guys like Arnold Schwarzenegger worked hard for years before they achieved their legendary musculature.

Perform the exercise pairs (marked A and B) as alternating sets, resting the prescribed amount of time between each set. So you'll do one set of A, rest, then one set of B, rest again, and repeat for all the prescribed sets. Perform the remaining exercises as straight sets, completing all the prescribed sets for one exercise before moving on to the next.

Any experienced fitness professional will tell you that the most important thing about staying consistent is to create a routine that is easy to follow. For instance, if you like to work out in the morning, make it part of your routine to get up and to the gym first thing every day to create that habit. Once you've created that habit of getting to the gym in the morning you will start to notice that it gets easier and easier to stick to your health and fitness goals because you've created a habit.

A gym or fitness center has many options to keep a first-time Gym Goer motivated and on track. You can choose to work out alone or in a group. Just make sure that you are going at a pace that works for you. If you have friends that are at your same fitness level make a time to go together to help keep each other motivated and on track.

Getting into the workout mindset is so much easier when you have somewhere dedicated to exercise. Not everybody has space for a home gym, that's true, but even if you have a corner of a room that can function as an "exercise area," your brain will be trained to switch into workout mode when you go there.

Any get-fit mission should begin with goal setting. Take a little time to consider what you want from your workout regime. Do you want to lose weight, get stronger, lose your mom butt or have more energy? Finding some goals that you can measure - I want to be able to lift this much weight, I want to lose this many pounds or I want to be able to run for this amount of time - may help you stick to them.
