Cardinals Off the Cuff

Game 2 vs. Chicago is tonight on Fox at 6:15. The Cards will send Kyle Leahy vs Ben Brown of the Cubs.

⚾️ Look for Crooks to start at catcher with Herrera moving to DH. Gorman should be back in at 3B, and after Walker it'll be interesting to see who plays the other two outfield spots out of Velazquez, Scott II, Torres, and Fermin (I'd guess in that order).

⚾️ The bullpen was especially great after Andre Pallante wasn't trusted after 3 innings. Bruihl, Graceffo, Soriano, Romero, Stanek, and O’Brien each went an inning. Combined they only allowed the 1 run by Riley O’Brien in the ninth to cut the lead to one. Even better, no one threw more than 16 pitches, so they'll probably all be available tonight.

That's a winner!! 6-5 over the Cubs. Great start to the weekend series. The Difference? 3 💣 & 6 innings of 1 run ball from the pen! CUE FREEBIRD!!!!!
