we promised you the Butthead to Abby’s Beavis, and here we have her….
everyone, meet todays rugger: Gaby Gubas.
AKA: Co-Cap, Butthead, Gabs
Gaby is from Chicago, Illinois. She is a senior, graduating in may with a degree in Graphic Design.
Gaby says she joined rugby because she wanted to stay active in a sport and try something new her freshman year. She added that she grew to love the sport and met people she will never forget.
A fun fact about Gaby is that she did figure skating in grade school for a few years. She said “not enough to do the fancy jumps, just the basics and how to not fall :)”

Next up on our “Meet the Rugger” series: Captain Abby Mickle
Aka: Cap, Beavis, Abs
Abby is from Fenton, Missouri. She is a senior, leaving us in May with a BS in Secondary Education in Science.
Abby serves as our team caption, our current jumper, our kicker, and our sweeper.
Abby says she joined rugby because was burnt out from soccer and needed something new. She added that the people have met along the way have become some of her favorite people to be around, and she loves the culture of rugby itself.
A fun fact about Abby is that she has almost been struck by lightning on two separate occasions. Her advice: don’t be out on a boat during a storm in a lake surrounded by trees.
Stay tuned for our next rugger: the Butthead to Abby’s Beavis.

We’re gonna kick spring break off with something fun, the first post of our new “Meet the Rugger” series.
Today’s Rugger: Coach Daniel
AKA: an absolute unit
Coach Daniel is from Letchworth, England. He graduated from Lindenwood University in 2015 with a Bachelors of Science in Education.
Daniel is a retired rugger, but still spends his days on the pitch with his fav girls. He was introduced to rugby by his father, who also played. Rugby runs in the family, so you betcha his two sons will be on the pitch in no time!
A fun fact about Coach Daniel is that he loves to use a pottery wheel to make pottery. (A potter and a rugger? We love to see it.)
Stay tuned this week to meet the rest of the ruggers! 🏉🏉🏉
