SLU Swimming/Diving Alumni

Coach Halliburton is in his 21st season as the head coach of the Saint Louis University Swimming and Diving team. During the fall season, both the men’s and women’s teams competed well, and now the teams are poised to make a great showing in the Atlantic 10 Championship in Geneva Ohio from February 16 – 19.

The Hall of Fame coach continues to lead the Billikens to great success, and he needs your help to continue to the consistency and to continue to build the family environment which is SLU Swim and Dive. This year, coach Halliburton would like to raise money for new starting blocks, which is a $20,000 purchase.

Last year we achieved 200 donors and surpassed $10,000 raised for SLU Swim and Dive. Let’s eclipse both numbers this year. Go Billikens!

Billikens Win Together is an initiative run by the SLU Athletic Department in response to the financial burdens associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.

The initiative runs through June 30, 2021. Donors will earn a gift from Billiken Athletics for any donation of $100+ made during this period.

Great news! The Swimming & Diving program has won the Billikens Give Back Challenge this year! Our initial goal was to have 100 total donors. With 10 days still remaining in the challenge we have amassed 117 donors!

Because of your amazing support, the program will be receiving an additional $1,250 in funding as a prize for winning the challenge!

To put your generosity into context, there are 11 teams that are participating in the challenge. Our program has amounted 117 of the 335 total donations (34.9% of all donations total) to date!

It’s time for the annual Billikens Give Back Challenge!

Throughout the next five weeks we are asking for support for SLU’s Swimming & Diving program! These funds will directly support several of the team’s initiatives, including the goal of purchasing new starting blocks.

From February 3 to March 7, gifts made by alumni, friends, and family will count towards the team’s overall contribution goal. This year, our goal is to receive 100 total donations. If we are the first team to reach our contribution goal, the team will receive an additional $1,250 in funding!

The challenge is based on the total number of participants, not the total dollar amount, so each donation is very helpful, big or small!

Billikens Compete at A-10 Classic Saint Louis swimming and diving competed against several other conference teams at the Atlantic 10 Classic Nov. 2-3.

Billikens Sweep Eastern Illinois, Maryville The Saint Louis swimming and diving teams were successful in their first home meet of the season Saturday, easily defeating Maryville and Eastern Illinois at Simon Recreation Center.

Gamilla Collects Two Top-10s at Show-Me Showdown Janssen Gamilla turned in two top-10 finishes Friday to lead the Saint Louis swimming and diving teams in the Show-Me Showdown at the Mizzou Aquatic Center.

Three Wins for Billiken Swimmers at Butler Duals Saint Louis swimmers turned in 15 top-three finishes Sunday afternoon at the Butler Double Dual Meet.
