Split squats are another one of those exercise that people feel strongly about one way or another. No matter what side of the fence you fall on, you can’t deny the amazing benefits of doing this movement.

✅They are excellent for improving balance and stability
✅They can provide a deep stretch to the hip flexors of the back leg, which is helpful for those who sit for long periods.
✅They engage the glute muscles significantly (and who doesn’t want a stronger b***y?)
✅They can contribute to improved flexibility and range of motion in the ankles over time.
✅They mimic a unilateral, or single-leg, movement pattern, making it more closely aligned with many real-life activities.
✅They add an effective cardiovascular component while still targeting the lower body muscles.

This week is the last week of deadlifts and chin ups, so we’ll be switching it back to squats and bench presses coming up next week! It’s always good to keep our bodies in a consistent routine of working out, but to also change up that routine every eight weeks or so!

The assault bike. Some like it and some either don’t like it, or they DEEPLY don’t like it, and to those people, we understand 🙂. It’s a challenging exercise that quickly and effectively gets your entire body into the game.

We regularly use the bikes in our finisher activities and our members understand the importance and benefits of using it when it comes to health and fitness. The assault bike also benefits members when it comes to mental toughness, and they know, the sooner they get on it and knock out the program, the sooner they can be finished with it!


The commitment to fitness starts with the first step through the door, and continues with every subsequent rep!

There are not shortcuts in the journey to fitness, so committing to the long game is the key to success!


The alternating incline row is an exercise that targest lats and upper traps and engages your core, all while reducing strain on your lower back.

A strong back gives you a strong foundation for overall health and fitness, supporting better posture, reducing the risk of injuries, and enhancing your performance in various physical activities.


Don’t neglect the stretch. We stretch before (and after) each workout.

✅Stretch to enhance flexibility and mobility.
✅Stretch to activate and warm up muscles.
✅Stretch to improve circulation and prevent injury.

Single arm cable rows are an effective movement that targets muscles of the upper back, including the lats, rhomboids, and traps. Work those babies hard now and you’ll see those sexy muscles popping come summertime!

We’re halfway through January, and if you’ve already lost the excitement for your new fitness program, maybe it’s time to consider a personal trainer?

This highly effective movement, the lateral lunge, is a powerhouse that targets the muscles of the inner and outer thighs (adductors and abductors), quadriceps, hamstrings, and glutes; promotes hip mobility and flexibility; requires you to stabilize your core as you move laterally, and challenges your balance and coordination.

A progression on the exercise would be using a kettlebell which adds resistance, intensifying the workout and further promoting strength gains. Can you feel the burn?


There are so many great benefits of doing a suitcase carry or march with a kettlebell, including improving core strength, improving posture, working one side of the body at a time (unilateral), enhancing grip strength, and improving balance and stability to name a few.

But to get the most out of these benefits, here are the corrections you might hear our coaches reminding us NOT to do:
🚫Leaning over
🚫Shrugging your shoulders
🚫Favoring the side with the weight
🚫Rushing or moving too quickly
🚫Not keeping the weight out to the side but rather against your body

Take your time and control this exercise to get the most out of it!
