Fierce with Grace is a phrase that Ursuline implemented this year in the athletic program. One of the things that makes competitive cheer such unique sport is that it requires athletes to be both incredibly strong and incredibly poised at the exact same time. That balance is exactly what the Fierce with Grace Award represents.
Being fierce means competing with confidence, determination, and intensity. It means attacking every routine, pushing through tough practices, and striving to be your very best. But being graceful means just as much. It means showing humility, kindness, and respect for your teammates, your coaches, and the program you represent.
Being “fierce with grace” means performing with power, confidence, and intensity, while still showing poise, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Our team requires athletes to be incredibly strong and determined, but it also demands composure and trust. A cheerleader who is fierce with grace knows how to balance both.
Audrey embodies both of those qualities. She brings strength, power, and confidence to the mat, but she also carries herself with composure and class. She supports her teammates, leads with positivity, and represents this team in a way that makes all of us proud.
Audrey reminds us that the best athletes aren’t just strong competitors—they’re also great teammates and great people.
As a coach, it’s incredibly special to watch an athlete grow into someone who not only performs fiercely, but carries herself with the kind of grace that elevates everyone around her.

One of the things that all coaches always say all the time is “give 110%.” What does this actually mean? Obviously no one can literally give more than 100%, but the phrase means an athlete is consistently doing everything possible to improve, support the team, and compete at their highest level. It also means committing fully to every part of the sport—physically, mentally, and as a teammate—every single day.
This is a behavior that is implemented at practice. This is what is looks like to me: Giving maximum effort in all reps. Routines are built through hundreds of repetitions. A cheerleader giving 110% doesn’t “mark” skills or go halfway. She hits her motions sharp, performs every stunt rep like it’s competition day, and brings energy, facial expressions, and confidence every time she runs the routine.
Being apart of this winning team requires complete trust between teammates. Giving 110% means Everyone does their job fully because the entire stunt group depends on it. When things do not go as planned, a 110% teammate resets quickly after mistakes, stays positive, and attacks the next rep with confidence.
Give it 110% is easy to say, but much harder to live out every single day. The 110% Award is going to Gaby because she truly embodies the mindset needed to be a winning cheerleader.
Gaby consistently gives everything she has. She shows up ready to work, pushes through challenges, and never takes a rep off. When things get tough, she leans in instead of backing down.
But giving 110% isn’t just about effort physically. It’s also about attitude, determination, and the willingness to keep improving. It’s about showing up for your teammates, pushing yourself to be better, and refusing to settle for anything less than your best. Gaby brings that level of commitment to our team every single day. Her work ethic and drive help set the standard for what it means to be part of this program.
As a coach, those are the kinds of athletes who make teams stronger and inspire the people around them.

One of the most important qualities any team can have is strong leadership. True leadership is about the way you show up every day, the way you treat your teammates, and the example you set for the people around you.
The Leadership Award is voted on by the team and recognizes an athlete who consistently demonstrates those qualities. Someone who leads with integrity, accountability, and respect. Someone who holds themselves to a high standard and inspires their teammates to do the same.
This athlete leads by example. She shows up prepared, works hard even when things are difficult, and encourages her teammates to keep pushing when the season gets challenging. She helps create the kind of culture where athletes support each other, work together, and believe in something bigger than themselves.
Leadership also means being someone your teammates trust and look up to, and this athlete has earned that respect through her dedication, positivity, and commitment to the team. As a coach, I’m incredibly proud of the leader she has become and the impact she has had on this program.
It is my honor to present this year’s Leadership Award to Camila! Here are some quotes from her teammates on why this award is so deserving.
Camila has always looked out for everyone. She is always so encouraging. She leads the way for others while also setting a good example for the team
Camila deserves this award, not just because she is the only senior but because she set a great example all season. She never missed practice, stayed positive even during tough days, and helped guide the freshmen both on and off the floor. She’s someone I could always count on.
My vote for the leadership award goes to Camila for always going out of her way to help others and set a good example. She is always kind and looking for a way to better our team.
My vote for the Leadership Award is Camilla because she shows leadership through her attitude both on and off the mat. She helps create a positive environment and encourages others to persevere, and she is someone we all look up to
Camila, was always staying positive and came in the mindset of wanting to win every practice and helped us want that just as much as her and gave us motivation every single practice.

At every banquet, we celebrate a lot of things, but one of the most meaningful awards we give out is the Hard Hat Award. This is another award that is voted on by the team. This award doesn’t always go to the person in the spotlight. It goes to the athlete who shows up every day ready to work, ready to do whatever the team needs, and ready to put the success of the group ahead of their own recognition.
The Hard Hat Award represents the kind of teammate every program hopes to have. Someone who steps in wherever they’re needed, who puts in the extra reps without being asked, and who supports their teammates without expecting anything in return. It’s the athlete who understands that a championship team isn’t built on individual moments. It’s built on people who are willing to do the hard, sometimes unnoticed, work.
This athlete embodies what it means to be selfless. She consistently puts the team first, encourages the people around her, and does whatever it takes to help this team succeed. Her work ethic, attitude, and commitment make our team stronger every single day.
As a coach, those are the qualities that make me the most proud. It is my honor to present this year’s Hard Hat Award to Olivia! Here are quotes from her teammates on why she is so deserving of this award:
For the hard hat award, I vote for Olivia. Even when she is sick, injured, or has something going on in her life, she always shows up to practice with a smile on her face. She rarely ever complains an everything she does is for the good of the team.
I am voting for Olivia because she always puts her teammates first. She is always asking others if their okay, and congratulating them on their wins!
Olivia is always there to help her teammates. She’s ready to help with grips or a stunt and gives advice that helps everyone grow to do better.
Olivia is constantly looking out for the good of the team and pushes all of us to be the best we can be.
Olivia takes corrections given to her and applies it instantly. She is also willing to step into other positions no matter what the circumstances are. She always shows up ready to give it her all. She is is type of person everyone wants on their team.
