We are looking for a host family for a 15-year-old boy from Mexico who LOVES soccer. Rodrigo will arrive in August for the school year, he just needs a bed and meals with the family. I want to inform you all that at the culmination of one of our games today one of our players was subjected to racist abuse from an opposing player.

As a club we are very diverse. Our players and our coaching staff all come from a variety of backgrounds and we celebrate that diversity. It is one of the things that makes our club great. At a time like this we want everyone to know that we stand alongside our players of color and stand against racist behavior of any kind.

In the future should any member of River City FC be subjected to any discriminatory abuse, be it towards their ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or gender identity we will walk off the field of play.

We are River City! We will stand together at all times, and we will stand up against the behavior that occurred today.
