Well I made the mistake of looking at the leaderboard on the 18th tee today before hitting my tee shot. Made my worst swing all day and hit it in a hazard. Had a putt to get into the playoff but made sure I gave it a chance and lipped out the comebacker. Still a great day of golf and it was fun to be in contention!

When adidas Golf sends me a package it’s always exciting. Today I had one show up and you could have given me a million guesses as to what it was and Waffle House Inspired Tour 360s wouldn’t have been one.

The ball you are fit with matters. The ONLY advantage to being fit indoors is to use a premium ball. But I say why not have both? The most complete fitting experience in town just got better with the edition of Titleist Pro V1s for my club fittings!

I worked with someone today who was unhappy with his irons that were “fit” to him by another place in town. They were some of the worst irons for his game, and he admitted that during the fitting, which was indoors, they only pointed out distance when comparing irons. What they didn’t tell him was that the 7 iron in this set is 27 degrees, and he only hit it 55 feet in the air with a landing angle that is unplayable.

I feel for his frustration. Get a fitting OUTDOORS where you can see that ball fly. And if your fitter is only talking to you about distance, kindly thank them for their time and leave.
