We are mobilizing and preparing for the cold snap. Along with our partners we have three strategies we are using which are interrelated. Hotel stays, warming centers, and converting night shelters into 24 hour shelters. Starting Saturday temps will be in the single digits for at least 7 nights in a row.

AGENDA
1. Election of Officers
We are seeking at least two nominees for each job. Elections will be held and the new officers will take over during that meeting.

We are continuing to seek people to volunteer to run for the offices so you can reply to this email and attend the meeting if you are interested. Here are the nominees so far:
Chairperson: Virginia Shelton and Jessica Craig
Coalition Administrator: Linda Burch and Jessica Craig
Communications Director: Virginia Shelton and Robert Boettcher
Treasurer: Scott Egan and Connie Lamka

2. Discontinuation of current Coalition website and creation of a new website or using Facebook as the primary source of information for the Coalition.

3. Discussion of Lockers for People on the Street
Objective is to provide temporary storage for people on the street so they can go to legal, medical, job, and housing appointments where baggage may be banned. We have obtained two rows of half-sized lockers, six in each row, through our friends at NLEC.

4. Homeless Awareness Month/Week
Jessica and Scott have volunteered to be prepare presentations to promote awareness of homelessness. We will advertise their presentations on our website and on flyers.

5. Bus tickets and passes: are they provided by United Way?

TO DISCUSS ELECTION OF OFFICERS IN OCTOBER

Hello Friends.
At the August Coalition meeting we listed tasks to be performed and assigned a division for different job titles. We now are accepting volunteers and nominations for the various job titles and hope there will be some new
participation in the Coalition as we go forward.

Each officer will be expected to recruit and train a substitute for the times they are unable to fulfill their duties.
Chairperson: Will chair each meeting and coordinate with the National Coalition when needed.
Coalition Administrator: Will recruit ideas for the Agenda, prepare Agenda. Will reserve the meeting room at Central Library. Will write the meeting notes shortly after each meeting and send to each active member.
Communications Director:
Keep Coalition website or page current.
Keep Coalition email list current.
Work on social media and providing information regarding homelessness to the mainstream media.
Stay in contact with CoC and City administration regarding policies.
Treasurer: Will be authorized to use the Coalition account and will report monthly on expenditures and deposits. Will be able to use PayPal.

We are currently accepting volunteers and nominations for each of these offices. Election will be at the October meeting.

**Lockers Update-- where are we each on our assigned tasks?
**Resource Directory Distribution.
**Officers? -- This is a continuing item. Do we need job descriptions and elections?
**Discuss the idea of contacting shelters and other social service agencies to encourage them to provide a Resource Room within their location with computers and information that would be available to their clients. Too many people in our region do not have access to the internet and this is another obstacle to securing employment, housing, health care and more.
