At Ardent CrossFit our goal is to be Stafford's premier provider of high-level fitness training. We are dedicated to making our clients stronger in all aspects of their lives through our Community, Coaching and of course, through CrossFit.Our StoryLike many other affiliates out there, our love of CrossFit and our desire to share that with others ignited the idea for Ardent. Not only has CrossFit been an integral part of lives from a fitness and wellness standpoint but it has also significantly impacted us on a personal level. We whole heartedly believe in the power behind the CrossFit Community and the ability it has to change your life for the better. Both of us had recently experienced significant life changes, had many questions and luckily walked through the doors to Rare in hopes of finding the answers. Not long after meeting, we began to discuss the possibility of opening our own box and less than two years later, those discussions have become a reality. While trying to decide the name for Ardent CrossFit, we discussed many many options. Until finally we came across the word Ardent - the perfect word to describe how we feel about CrossFit. This is our passion. We are ardent in our pursuit of fitness. We are ardent in our desire to share this with our members. We are Ardent CrossFitters and we know you will be too.Our MissionOur mission at Ardent is to improve the lives of every single one of our athletes. We don't just want to help you lose weight or get stronger - of course we do want to accomplish those things and we WILL accomplish those things as a result of our training. But our bigger goal is to help you lead a happier, healthier and more fulfilling life. That may sound like a lofty goal but we firmly believe in our methodologies and the power behind CrossFit. This is a lifestyle - when you walk out of our doors you will carry with you the effects of the intense WOD you just completed. Not only will you be in better shape but you will become more confident in your capabilities. You will take new risks, tackle new goals and ultimately live a better life. And we can't wait to help you do it! The Ardent DifferenceWe aren't like other gyms. You won't find rows of treadmills and ellipticals in front of televisions. You won't do bicep curls or calf raises. What you will find is equipment that will focus on functional movements and intense workouts that will improve your work capacity across the board. You will find a supportive environment full of coaches and athletes pushing you to be your very best. You will be in and out of Ardent within an hour, left with a feeling of exhausted accomplishment and ready to take on the challenges in your life.

We hear it all the time - exercise is boring. Every day it’s the same thing over and over and over again.

How many times have you hit the gym, completed the exact same routine, and then left feeling unfulfilled?

We know we need to exercise to be healthy, but defaulting to a set period of time on a treadmill, stationary bike, rower, stair climber, elliptical, or the “get fit now” video series just doesn’t cut it. There is more to it than elevating your heart rate, pouring sweat, and burning calories.

Routine is the enemy - plain and simple.

So many people quit their gym because they’re not challenged and they’re unfulfilled. Sure, you can be motivated for one workout, but can you be motivated consistently?

Our gym is different because we focus on variety, working your whole body with fun and challenging workouts.

So what’s the moral of the story? We only have 24 hours in each day, so let’s make sure the hour we spend in the gym is the best hour of our day.

Ardent Barbell is pleased to announce its next six-week session.

If you are new to Ardent Barbell or to the Olympic weightlifting arena, this class will help you specifically work on the sn**ch, clean and jerk, and the ancillary movements surrounding these lifts, with the aforementioned focus on squatting. You will build strength and comfort in these high-skill movements and ultimately give yourself the ability to increase your lifting potential.

If you would like to join our upcoming Ardent Barbell session, click the link below and enroll. We will continue to cap these classes to keep the coach/lifter ratio to a minimum. If you do not have a current Ardent monthly plan, you will be billed a supplemental payment to make up the current member/non-member payment.

These 75-minute sessions are a great way to hang out with friends, make new friends, and get strong in the process! If you have any questions, reach out to Coach Connie or reply to this email.

Strong women aren’t born—they’re built.

CrossFit and strength training do so much more than change your appearance. They build confidence, increase bone density, improve heart health, boost metabolism, and help protect your body as you age. Every lift, every workout, and every challenge makes you stronger—not just physically, but mentally.

The goal isn’t to be smaller. It’s to be stronger, healthier, and more capable for whatever life throws your way.

Strong is beautiful. Strong is powerful. Strong is for every woman.

We want to see your face and miss you when you’re not here, but it’s very important to take rest days to let your body recover. Your body rebuilds muscle when you’re not working out — rest is essential if you want to see results!

Here are some signs you might need to take a day off:

You’re extra sore. It takes between 24 to 72 hours for your muscles to recover, so if you find you’re sore for longer than 72 hours after a workout, it may be that your body is having trouble recovering. Being sore is to be expected and usually not something to worry about — unless it persists for three days and doesn’t seem to be improving. Take a day off and go for a walk or do some stretching, then come back in when you’re recovered.

Your progress has stalled. Had a week of bad workouts where you feel slow and not like your normal self? Does the bar feel extra heavy? This might be your body telling you to take a break. Give your muscles time to heal and you’ll come back stronger!
You feel exhausted after a good night’s sleep. If you’ve eliminated other reasons for your exhaustion (like illness or stress), you might feel tired because you’re overtrained. Take a real rest day, go to bed early, and see if that helps!

Not sure what do to on your rest day? Go for a walk! Walking or jogging at an easy pace can enhance blood flow and help with recovery.
