This morning, two of our longtime members, Sam Bua and Paul Burda, were the first golfers to tee off at SVGC — a pretty special way to celebrate 62 years of Stamford Valley Golf Course!

And to make the morning even more special, Sam celebrated his 91st birthday yesterday! 🎉🎂

Having golfers like Sam and Paul still out here enjoying the course is something we treasure. ❤️ We are so thankful for our amazing crew of longtime golfers who have supported SVGC through the years and helped make our history so special. Thank you, Sam and Paul — and thank you to all of our longtime golfers. We appreciate you more than you know! ⛳️❤️

On September 5, 1964, when Stamford Valley Golf Course first opened its doors, Marshall Sprague was our very first golfer! This week, Marshall celebrated his 97th birthday, and today we had the honor of hosting a tournament in his name while also getting to celebrate his birthday.

Marshall, we are thankful for you and for the memories you’ve helped create over the past 62 years. You will always hold a very special place in the history of Stamford Valley Golf Course. ❤️
