Tussey mOUnTaiNBACK 50 Mile Relay and Ultramarathon

Tussey mOUnTaiNBACK 50 Mile Relay and Ultramarathon Race Day is SATURDAY, October 24th!! Run just for the hill of it! The 2026 edition will offer a 13.1 Mile, 50k solo, 50 Mile Ultra and Relay Team race.

(2-8 persons) The Tussey mOUnTaiNBACK is dedicated to serving runners of all levels and giving back to the regional community. Our primary events take place on a Race Weekend each year in October in Central Pennsylvania's Rothrock State Forest and include ultramarathons (100 miles, 50 miles, and 50 kilometers), a 50-mile relay (for teams of 2-8 runners), a half marathon, and a kids' mile. We also host a series of free races from February through June called the Tussey Teasers, and a training series from August into October called the Discovery Series on unique routes in Rothrock State Forest. Our certified 50-mile single-loop course is 84% unpaved, offering a soft and nontechnical running surface. Proceeds from our events support nonprofit organizations in Centre County. Your generosity makes a difference!

A big thank you to the eleven hardy athletes who ran the 2026 Eager Seeger Half-Marathon on Saturday. A brief rainstorm ensured it was not too hot this year. Congratulations are due Charles Vasey the overall winner with a time of 1+38 and Anne Menefee the lead woman with a time of 1+45. Anne also won last year’s race. It's time again for the Eager Seeger Half-Marathon! Do you think you can run the course faster than Winter Parks' time of 1:26 from last year?

Come out to the Alan Seeger Natural Area at the intersection of Stone Creek and Seeger Roads. We'll start at 0800 to beat any heat and humidity. The race is free, with the usual prizes for the leaders, but registration is required.
We'll have water stations at the normal race aid station locations.

Are you ready for challenging run this weekend? Come out and join us for the umpteenth running of the Beidelheimer Sidewinder 10 and 20 km. The race begins and ends at Whipple Dam, on Beach Drive near the restrooms. If you're up for a moderate run, do the 10k from the lake to the bottom of Beidelheimer Road and back, following Greenlee Road. If you are getting frisky, head up Beidelheimer Road to where we have aid station four on big race, at the intersection with Gettis Ridge Road. Turn around and head back to the lake. We promise a great run. Since it's a free race, the price purses are sized accordingly (think chocolate). Details at www.tusseymountainback50.com. Run just for the hill of it!

Exciting news runners!

We have been approved to hold the 2026 race on Saturday, 24 October. This is a big change from past years and should allow easier travel for those coming from out of town. We will have more details soon, but the race day schedule will be a lot like earlier years.

Registration will open at 0001 on 16 March, in just a few hours
