NMBA volunteers participated in a free chainsaw training provided by DCNR last Friday in Rothrock. DCNR is offering the same class this upcoming Friday 6/19, and there are a few spots left!
- At New Alan Seeger Picnic Area from 8 AM - 12 PM
- No prior experience with chainsaws is required
- If you participate in the class and get your certificate, NMBA would be happy to give you access to chainsaws for work in Rothrock!
RSVP via the DCNR volunteer opportunity link is required in advance—see our page or recent member email for the link.
NMBA will also be holding our next Trail Love event on Sunday 6/28 at Tussey Ski Area in coordination with The Bicycle Shop — mark your calendars!
- It’ll be from 10am - 2pm, and we’ll brush cut Tussey Mountain Trail and Lonberger.

Thanks to the Centre County Crows for your amazing work at Harvest Fields this past weekend!
We had members of the Crows plus PICL members from other teams come out and volunteer for 3 hours on Saturday. They worked on every inch of the Hamer Bike Park.
P.S. Your new tent looks sick!

We kicked off the Trail Love season at Harvest Fields with The Bicycle Shop at the end of April and Happy Valley Women's Cycling at the end of May.
They Bicycle Shop pulled out TONS of thistle at the Hammer Bike Park!
Happy Valley Women's Cycling did an awesome job reshapping the rollers!
Thanks so much to everyone who came out! We couldn't do any of this without all the fantastic volunteers. 😎

This week at Harvest Fields brought both incredible stoke and some frustration.
The stoke:
Over 25 elementary school kids have been ripping around the trails through Happy Valley Women’s Cycling youth camps—building skills, confidence, and friendships.
The frustration:
This week, e-moto bikes caused thousands of dollars of damage to the bike park. Riding in the wet is already against our guidelines, and only human-powered bikes and Class 1 pedal-assisted e-mountain bikes are allowed even on dry days. If you see anything, report activity to the State College Police at 814‑234‑7150 and reference case . We know the people doing this are probably kids, so try to be educational rather than confrontational, and remind them that they’d look way cooler on mountain bikes.
