I didn’t know many people when I first came to college, but I saw a sign-up sheet for flag football in my dorm so I got a few people together and signed us up. Even though we weren’t really good at first, I fell in love with Intramurals!
I play every sport I can and have about 6 champ shirts! I love the competition, especially in flag football. Coming out on top feels awesome since there’s so many good teams.
I think incoming freshmen should definitely get involved in intramurals because they’re a great way to keep playing sports after finishing high school. It’s pretty easy to balance work and school and sports because it doesn’t require a huge time commitment.
Being involved in intramurals has helped me meet new friends and stay in shape. I definitely want to stay involved in sports after college and will play in a corporate league or something where I work.

NIRSA National Flag in Pensacola has come to an end, but what a way to finish. 3 GS teams competed in the playoffs, 2 GS officials were named All Americans, and another great tournament staff ran this event. Next year we will take on Round Rock, Texas and do it all again!
