Rifle team Trip to Anniston AL

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as the team travels to Anniston Alabama this morning for the Marine Corps National Air Rifle Competition.

So proud of this team today. Took home first place overall and 8 individual medals from Fort Mill HS today! Not to mention the scrimmage match yesterday against Mooresville. Alabama here we come!

All Rifle Team Cadets, there will be a preliminary practice on Thursday, August 13th, from 0800-0930 at SIHS MCJROTC. It is mandatory unless you have a good reason not to go. (I didn't feel like it is not a valid excuse)

If you are on this list you made the tryout list in the spring.

Tryouts for the 2015-2016 Rifle Team will be held this Wednesday and Thursday the 20th and 21st of May. From 3:30pm to 5:00 at South Iredell. All team prospective team members must shoot at least one of these days. Warning though, cuts will be being made in preparation for the incoming freshmen. However tryouts will be held again in September. -C/MSgt Rutherford

USMC Fundamental Training With M-16 (Video) The absolute fundamentals – sight picture, trigger control, breathing, follow through, achieve greater emphasis – dominating the video, while the traditional marksmanship positions are left out. The targets, too, have changed: What was then a bulls-eye has become a reduced “bust” silhouette, at which the trainees are instructed to shoot center of mass. The January practice schedule is as follows: After school practice on Tuesday (the 13th) and Wednesday (the 14th).

Starting on Friday the 16th we will be practicing from after lunch until dismissal at 3:15pm after morning exams. This will also happen on Tuesday (the 20th), Wednesday (the 21st).

Our First match of the spring season is the NCHS/SSHS match at the American legion post. We are shooting at 3pm on Thursday the 22nd. We will meet and morning exams and leave the school immediately following lunch.

Practice dates after this match are TBD, and our next match is the 31st of January at West Lincoln.

The next two matches are January 24th (NCHS/SSHS) in Hickory. Then the following week we have another match at West Lincoln (Jan 31st) Practice will resume during exam week, and will take place in the cafeteria after morning exams. Practice dates and specifics will be posted on the boards, page, and team members will be notified by email. Oohrah

Happy Halloween! Viking Host match starts today, All cadets attending the RIFLE meet (not drill) need to report to the cafeteria at 0645 for first shift, and 1100 for the second shift. Bring food or money for food, we will be working all day!
