If there was a lesson I would tell my younger self, it would be that you don't know as much as you think you know. Lack of knowledge weirdly comes with a lot of overconfidence sometimes.

Arms aren't a talisman, they don't ward off evil on their own. It looks like we're headed to some rough days ahead, spend a bit more time with your loved ones and also take some time to be proficient with your arms lest you ever need to use them. You'll be thankful for both.

We have some more cool classes coming up soon, but Sept 26th is our concealed carry class.

Bill Drill - 6 shots from 7 yards with the goal of all hits inside the A zone. 2.5 seconds is considered pretty ok, under 2 seconds is considered highly skilled.

I used to have dreams of becoming a well known instructor and traveling across the US teaching classes, but over time I just realized it wasn't for me. I have a huge amount of respect for the instructors that travel and are nationally and internationally regarded, I just wanted to have more time with my family and spend less time on the range. I'll stick to concealed carry and level 1 and 2 classes for the time being because I enjoy teaching and love seeing new shooters develop.

(This run was ok. 2.1s from concealment on a mini steel target roughly A zone sized. It's about what I can consistently do at the moment.)

Some guy in the comments of my last video on Instagram said my Gen 5 was in poor condition because it was dirty. Nah. That's just normal wear from carrying it every day, I'd say this is pristine compared to my old carry Gen 4. This one hardly gets shot since I switched to it a few years ago. This is for carry, I have a second one which is an exact duplicate that I use for training that gets all the wear and tear. I mostly just verify zero on this and put a few mags through it to test function every year.

Wear you gear and let it develop some character. I'd hardly trust a tradesman if all his tools were like new.

Another reason I don't really like carrying Sigs. Some of their higher end models do have better finishes, but this is pretty terrible.

Suppressed Barrett M107A1 50 BMG is actually fairly light on recoil, even my 6 year old can shoot it. The suppressor really cuts the skull rattling blast that it usually has, it just makes a heavy gun even more unwieldy.

If I had to describe it, I'd say the Barrett overall feels like it wasn't made for a normal sized human. Trying to use it standing or kneeling it is incredibly awkward and difficult because it's just so huge and heavy, especially with a 5lb suppressor on the end. Unless you're a 7ft tall autistic super soldier, I wouldn't recommend it.

RangeMaster Advanced Sh***un instructor class at Apache Solutions from earlier this year. If you've never had a chance to take a higher level class with nationally recognized instructors I highly recommend it. Local classes and local guys are nice, but if you have the opportunity to take a higher level class then you definitely should.
