Deload week. What? Why? When?
One of the most overlooked parts of training is the deload week - even though it’s one of the most important for long-term progress.
A deload week is a planned reduction in training intensity or volume designed to help the body recover after weeks of hard work. It gives your muscles, joints, and nervous system time to reset while helping reduce accumulated fatigue.
At CrossFit Staunton, we know progress doesn’t only happen during the hardest workouts. Sometimes your body needs a step back before it can take another step forward.
Deload weeks can help improve recovery, lower injury risk, prevent burnout, and set you up to perform better in the weeks ahead. They’re not a sign of weakness - they’re part of smart training.
Train hard. Train smart. Recover well. See ya this week for Deload. 😉

Keep your kids active, confident, and moving this summer with our 4-week CrossFit Kids sessions starting June 2nd! 💪
Our program focuses on:
