With everything going on in the world right now we want everyone to know that rugby is love, rugby is inclusion, rugby is family. Athletes of all shapes and sizes, sexual orientations, religious beliefs, and gender identities are welcomed and celebrated in rugby. Transgender and non-binary athletes are always going to be welcome and loved with the Steamboat Women’s RFC as teammates and family. We stand with our LGBTQ+ rugby family and will continue to support them, play with them, and celebrate this amazing sport with them. Rugby is for all.

This weekend has been a rugby weekend in indeed.
While the USA women’s team was fighting to make history making it to its first ever metal opportunity game in the Olympics.
The heifers made their own little@bit of history bringing the women’s rugby side back to vails ski town tournament. 🏟️
The first step to@growing This amazing sport is showing up and all these ladies left their hearts on the field this weekend.

Our Heifers are ready to take on vail women’s at ski town rugby today! If your hanging around the vail valley we play at 11:30 and 4:30 come out and cheer on steamboat rugby !!
Vail athletic fields all day !

Let’s keep this post Cowpie momentum going!!! Heifers and steamboat men’s will be practicing at Whistler fields in steamboat every Tuesday and Thursday through the end of September from 6-8pm. Come join the steamboat rugby community!!!

Our heifers are still charging through the week even though we have to wait a whole year for Cowpie to happen again.

This weekend our heifers brought home the golden s**t yet again for the 50th Cowpie classic!!!! In addition to our lovely ladies bringing home the gold our Steambaot men’s and Oldboy’s also claimed championship titles making this Cowpie the first in its history to have all 3 steamboat teams claiming titles!!!!!!
Thank you to all of our lovely wh**es who came out and made this Cowpie possible. And a huge thank you to all our lovely fans who came out and cheered on our teams this wouldn’t be possible or nearly as much fun with out all of you!!!

This weeks player highlight of the week is non other then our very own long time heifer !!!
Kate started playing 2013 with steamboat, then went on to play in Hawaii, and Missouri before finally returning to her old stopping grounds here in steamboat.
Kate is a power back but knows how to jump up to the pack and help out when she’s needed at flank.
When not on the field or giving IV’s on the side line; Kate enjoys Mountain biking, skiing, anything water related.
Oh fun fact about this heifer shes ambidextrous! We’re so happy to have this heifer as part of our herd!!!!

Our heifers love to show support for local events and fellow athletes. Every year the steamboat rugby clubs set up and break down the finish line for the steamboat marathon as well as bringing the party to the #8 aid station along the Marathon and half marathon course. Congrats to all the runners who powered through the pain and ran through this beautiful Rocky Mountain course!
