Opening on Wednesday, June 3, will be delayed to 1:00 so we can do our part to control the spread of invasive weeds in our community as we spray around the track. The delayed start applies for scenic chairlift and mountain bike rides as well.

We're serving up fun on the alpine slide seven days a week through the summer! Grab a friend and come ride!

Opening Day at The Howler Alpine Slide is almost here! Join us Memorial Day Weekend, May 23–25, 2026, as we kick off another summer of mountain fun at historic Howelsen Hill.

Take the chairlift to the top and enjoy scenic views overlooking downtown Steamboat Springs before cruising down the 2,400-foot alpine slide through twists, turns, and beautiful mountain terrain. Whether you’re looking for a fast ride or a scenic cruise, you’re in control all the way down.

Hours: 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Open daily for the summer beginning May 30

This warm weather has the Howler Alpine Slide on everyone's mind, but we still have more winter ahead and much to do to prepare for the summer. Opening day is scheduled for May 30, but stay tuned for some possible Memorial Day weekend bonus days!
