Five of our dancers competed in the National Ballet Competition this past weekend! Eden, Lilly, Faith, Klea & Eliana, we are so proud of each of you! We brought home one gold medal, one bronze medal and seven scholarships!

Welcome to All our New and Returning Students!

It is time to prepare for our 11th annual Nutcracker production! The production is staged as a full-length ballet, open to students in level Ballet I and above and After School A and B groups. The performance will take place at Dominion High School and will be open to the public.

Requirements:
Must be in level Ballet I or above or in our after school program.
Must be available for ALL Saturday rehearsals from October 15th through December 3rd.
Must be available for Dress Rehearsal Friday evening, Dec. 9th.
Must be available for shows on both Saturday, December 10th and Sunday, December 11th.
It is of utmost importance that students attend ALL of their scheduled rehearsals to ensure they are properly prepared.
Please DO NOT sign up your child if you have a scheduling conflict on Saturdays between 11 am and 5 pm! For those of our students taking Saturday dance classes, we will work around your class schedule.
All dancers must audition on Saturday, October 8, 2022.
A participation fee of $125 (cash or check payable to Sterling Ballet Company) for each child is due on or before the first rehearsal October 15th. Payments can be made in the office.The participation fee covers audition fees, 10+ hours of rehearsal, costumes, stage and prop rental, professional filming and editing plus distribution. There will be no rehearsal on November 26th due to the Thanksgiving Holiday.
This year we are requiring all students to have a n**e leotard for dress rehearsal and performance days.
There is no refund for withdrawing after the first rehearsal October 15th!

Auditions

Auditions will be held at our Stage Ballet location in Ashburn on Saturday, Oct. 8th, 2022.

Auditions are a great experience for our students to see how to audition for a professional ballet. All students will receive part(s) assigned by the instructors who are running auditions. Please sign up for your specific time slot here. All dancers should dress as they would for class (pink shoes, pink tights, class leotard and hair in a neat bun).

An email will be sent by Wednesday, October 12, 2022 letting you know which part(s) your dancer has been assigned. A rehearsal schedule detailing exact rehearsal times for various parts (child's name will be indicated under their part) will be included.

Rehearsals
Rehearsals will be held each week at our Sterling Ballet location in Sterling.

Rehearsal times change every week. Please check the weekly email to verify the time your dancer needs to be here for their role(s).

Parent Opportunities!
Parents available to dance in Party Scene, we need you too! No audition or participation fee necessary. Please sign up here.

The Nutcracker Tea Party is a family-friendly event perfect for the child in all of us! Enjoy a one-hour version of the holiday classic, The Nutcracker Ballet, performed by Sterling Ballet Company, along with a delightful tea party.
Your little princess will enjoy dressing up and feeling like she has "gone to the ball." Nutcracker Tea Party is a very special experience for all.-
The Nutcracker Tea Party is especially suited for children ages 3-10 who are not quite ready to enjoy a half hour performance of the ballet. Our ballet is shortened for about 20 minutes but includes beautiful costumes and all your favorite scenes.
And the tea party - with traditional tea-party fare served - is so much fun! Everyone will love meeting the costumed dancers as they visit each table. And there's the Nutcracker Boutique featuring an extensive collection of unique nutcrackers for your collection, tiaras, and ornaments.
Have a fabulous time with that special child in your life, and create new memories.
