One year ago, we lost Charlie Kirk. He was a courageous patriot and an American champion for freedom, free speech, faith, and the Second Amendment. He believed in this country's founding, its Constitution, and its principles. He changed the course of American history and the lives of many of our youth. Our hearts go out to you today because we know he touched so many of your lives in troubling times. If he lived, he may very well have become President or Vice President. Something very bright was taken away from us, and it should not be in vain. We should remember him and what he stood for. The way he connected our Nation’s founding, its principles, and the Christian faith should be studied by all Americans. He was assassinated while doing what he had devoted his life to: debating young Americans and challenging them to think critically, speak, and have the courage to stand for what they believe. He challenged them to think for themselves, to decide what was right and wrong, not what the system told them to think.
No words adequately describe what that loss meant for those of us who loved him.
He was courageous, a patriot, a historian, and compassionate.
Our sympathy goes to his wife, children, and the company he formed, Turning Point, to spread his message.
Never forget, great men inspire other men to be great.
I am posting a video of Charlie simply answering a question about the founding of the nation. If he could do this off the cuff, most of us could improve our understanding of world history, how this beautiful country was formed and why these principles together have given us the combination of the freest, largest, most prosperous, and diverse nation in known human history. Listening to this video, I know many of you will notice ways our nation is veering off course. What can you do as a citizen to make it better? That is your calling. “What man is a man who does not make the world better?” Kingdom of Heaven (2005)
“Courage is doing the right thing when you don’t know how it’s going to end up. Courage is doing the thing that is moral and that is bigger than yourself.” — Charlie Kirk
