The Northern Virginia Volleyball Association (NVVA) provides indoor, beach and grass volleyball training opportunities for players of all ages and levels.
The Northern Virginia Volleyball Association is one of the largest and most successful volleyball clubs in the northern Virginia region. Founded in 1997, NVVA has more than 1,400 youth volleyball members and 600 junior members, as well as 64 girls and boys club teams with players ages 12-18. We are also the parent organization for Loudoun Youth Volleyball (LYV) with more than 1000 players. A Legacy of Success
In 2010, NVVA sent 5 teams to Nationals (three more teams than any other club in the area). One of our teams even finished 5th in the nation, while no other club in the area placed in the top 10. Over the years, our teams have won many Regional Championships, National Qualifiers as well as East Coast Championships and South Atlantic Championships. Many have gone on to participate in USAV Nationals and NIT and other postseason tournaments. The majority of our teams finish in the top half of their respective age groups with many in the top ten or higher every season. Every year NVVA players receive recognition at the District, Regional and State level as well as ‘All-Met’ honors. Many of our players continue on to play at the collegiate level. NVVA Club Philosophy
NVVA is the largest and most successful volleyball club in the Chesapeake region of USA Volleyball. USA Volleyball emphasizes ‘Athletes First, Winning Second,’ and the Northern Virginia Volleyball Association agrees with that philosophy. NVVA will ensure that the athletes receive excellent coaching, improve their volleyball skills, have the opportunity to compete in a healthy environment, and gain an appreciation for working as a part of a team and a club. A New Direction
NVVA is taking volleyball to the next level in the DC Metro area. With the hiring of a new Technical and Recruiting Director and the acquisition of a seven court volleyball only facility NVVA has not only secured its place as the leader in Volleyball in the Chesapeake Region but has taken the steps necessary to ensure they play a primary role in the growth, development and competitive success of volleyball throughout the Mid-Atlantic. NVVA is a 501(c)3, a nonprofit organization located in Sterling, VA.
Operating as usual
Congratulations to Janssens Arabia and Reagan Walters from NVVA's X-Performance U15 team for their nomination for the JVA 2021 watch list. We are super proud of you!!!
The JVA is proud to announce the 2021 Ultra Ankle® JVA Watch List featuring over 1,900 girls indoor junior volleyball athletes from nearly 130 JVA member clubs from across the US and Canada. The players nominated are among the best in the nation in their age division this season.
"Volleyball student-athletes across the country have had an entire year of training, competition, and recruiting deeply impacted by the pandemic. We feel this year's Ultra Ankle® JVA Watch List identifies not only the outstanding talent but also the resiliency and dedication among these student-athletes, as well as the commitment of the JVA club leaders. These young athletes from all areas of the country demonstrate that our sport is immensely strong and the future looks bright" states JVA Executive Director Jenny Hahn.
The 2021 Ultra Ankle® JVA Watch List honorees will be eligible for selection to the 2021 Ultra Ankle® JVA All-National Team in June. Although this season has looked quite different from a competition and training standpoint, we are excited and thankful to keep an eye on the 2021 Ultra Ankle® JVA Watch List athletes as they compete in the second half of the indoor season.
Our coaches want to wish all of our players and parents a safe and happy holiday, and a wonderful new year! 🎄🎄🎄

Since LYV began, we’ve worked to share our love for volleyball with the community. Over the years our program has grown and been able to serve as the starting point for over 20,000 athletes in their volleyball careers! We have continuously refined our coaching processes in working with young athletes allowing players to not only train their skills but to have fun while doing it. Most high school players in Loudoun County found their passion for volleyball starting with LYV Elementary and Middle School programs, many of whom have advanced to play at a collegiate level. By integrating community, club, and school sports, we’ve been able to create a program that puts less pressure on kids to win, and more emphasis on playing to find joy.
nvva.com Loudoun Youth Volleyball (LYV) was created in 1997 as a recreational volleyball league whose purpose is to teach and promote the sport of volleyball and good sportsmanship.
