Exciting news!!!!
HB 1770 has not only passed out of committee, but it also passed out of the House! One provision had to be removed to have the language reworked, but it will be included again in the Senate version of the bill! We will let you know when you can call or e-mail your Senator to garner support for the bill.

Here's what HB 1770 does:
1. Allow people on bikes to treat stop signs as yields and red lights as stop signs;
2. Update hand signals so that a person on a bike can lawfully use a right hand to signal;
3. Update language about throwing or maliciously taunting a person on a bike; (this item will be reworded in the Senate version)
4. A motorized vehicle cannot honk at a person on a bike when there is no immediate danger.

This is a GREAT day for bicycle advocacy! Please let your representatives know that you appreciate the support. This bill passed the House with a vote of 76-13!!!!!!
