Today, December 1st, is Rosa Parks Day. The date she was arrested for refusing to give up her seat on the bus in 1955, a historical act of defiance that became a pivotal moment for civil rights.

February 4th, Rosa's birthday, is also considered to be Rosa Parks Day, with both dates being an annual chance to remember her and what she achieved.

This addition helps remove a critical barrier to safety, nearly 50% of domestic violence survivors delay leaving an abuser because they fear what will happen to their pets. Now, families no longer have to choose between safety and staying with a beloved companion. Thanks to support from the community (and incredible partners like SMAC, Red Rover and the Purina Purple Leash Project), we’re breaking down barriers for survivors by making sure pets can stay safe too. 💜🐾
