STA Spring Leagues Begin Week of March 23rd

A Warm Howdy Stillwater Tennis Community,

Spring has sprung and with it, another 8 weeks of STA Spring Leagues begin the week of March 23rd on Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays. Information and entry form for the three weekly leagues can be found on our website at https://www.stillwatertennis.org/leagues-tournaments-clinics

To sign up for a league, email the league coordinator first. Then fill out our new online registration form on our website to become a STA Member and formally join one or more of the weekly leagues.

To become a STA Member, a yearly membership fee is collected which is good for a calendar year (Jan-Dec). The membership fee goes toward paying for STA operating expenses; contributions to STA programs including our youth tennis clinic and tennis tournaments; and charitable donations including the SHS Tennis program and the City of Stillwater in the form of court maintenance & equipment.

Another change for this year - there will no longer be a fee to register as a substitute player. We will have a substitute player roster that league coordinators will use to fill match openings. To add your name to the substitute roster, please fill out the separate online substitute player form just below the regular weekly league entry form.

We are now able to accept several forms of payment with the preferred method being Zelle which is a bank supported digital payment processing platform that does not charge a processing fee. Check your online banking app or your bank branch to see if Zelle is supported.

Just a short note that STA Spring Leagues on Monday, Tuesday & Thursdays will begin the week after OSU Spring Break. We will be posting a new registration and entry fee procedure on our website in the coming days.

Also with the SHS Pioneer and Junior High Tennis teams beginning their spring seasons, Coach Chance Sistrunk is looking for drivers to transport high school and junior high teams to out of town matches in the first two weeks in March. The dates drivers are needed: March 4, 6, 7, 9, 10 and 13.

Cowgirl Tennis Home Opener Versus #4 Auburn 5:00 pm Friday, Jan 30th @ Greenwood Tennis Center

New Years G'day Stillwater Tennis Fuzzballers,

As you hunker down this frigid evening hopefully enjoying the matches down under in Australia, just wanted to let you know that tennis is still alive and well in Stillwater as well.

Your #10 ranked OSU Cowgirl Tennis team take on #4 ranked Auburn in their home opener this coming Friday Jan 30th at 5:00 pm @ Greenwood Tennis Center. Let's welcome new head coach Sergey Avdeyev, assistant coach Maggie Kane and the team with a big turnout for this early season top ten dual.

Meet the Team Event Thurs. Jan. 8th @ Greenwood Tennis Center, OSU Campus

We are excited to announce the return of the “Meet the Team” event this coming January 8th at 5:30pm!

This will be an opportunity to meet our Cowgirls and Cowboys after they are introduced, along with the staff, and then enjoy pizza and an open practice where you will have the ability to be court level with the players.

No RSVP will be needed, it will be open to the public, and we cannot wait to share time and a practice session with all of you!

Happy Thanksgiving to the 2025 Youth Tennis Clinic Family!

We wrapped up this year's tennis clinic last Saturday under a bit of chilly weather but we still had a great turnout from both students & instructors. Two class photos from week 2 and week 5 are included in this post.

There are two students that likely did not receive their t-shirts in the last two sessions so if their parents are still interested, please email us and we can arrange to drop them off.

I want to take this opportunity to thank the 2025 youth tennis clinic parents for their patience this year from our late start in October to the two rainout weeks and then the scheduling changes mid-stream.

From my rather biased vantage point, I think the kids enjoyed their time out on the courts. Although we will not be holding tennis clinics during the spring, we will likely offer a tennis clinic sometime next summer so please be on the lookout for an announcement here on Facebook and by email.

This is our fifth year offering the STA Youth Tennis Clinic. It would not be possible without the support of the Stillwater High School head tennis coach Chance Sistrunk and the many high school and junior high tennis team players serving as instructors. In appreciation for their efforts, the STA will once again be donating funds to the Pioneer Tennis Booster Club.

STA Youth Tennis Clinic Schedule Reminder for 11/15 - One Combined Session for All Ages @ 10:00 am

Dear Youth Tennis Clinic Parents,

Just a reminder that we will hold ONE COMBINED session for all ages at 10:00 am for the remainder of the clinic (11/15 & 11/22)

T-shirts have arrived so we will be handing them out this weekend. If you can't make it, please let me know.

STA Youth Tennis Clinic Schedule Change for 11/8 - One Combined Session for All Ages @ 10:00 am

Dear Youth Tennis Clinic Parents,

To allow the weather to warm up again, we will move to ONE COMBINED session for all ages starting from here on out for the next 3 weeks (11/8, 11/15, 11/22) starting at 10:00 am.

T-Shirts have been ordered and scheduled to arrive for the 11/15 session but there's always a chance there may be a delay in which case we will be distributing them at our final session on 11/22.

STA Youth Tennis Clinic Schedule Change for 11/1/25 - One Session for All @ 11:00 am to 12:00 pm

Dear STA Youth Tennis Clinic Parents,

To allow the weather to warm up above 50 degrees this Saturday, we will be moving both clinic sessions to 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Hopefully the sun will be out to help keep conditions comfortable for everyone.

2025 FALL YOUTH TENNIS CLINICS starts up this Saturday, Oct 11

This year's STA Fall Youth Tennis Clinics begin this Saturday, Oct 11th on a weekly basis for 5 weeks. Two sessions will be held grouped by age: 6 to 8 yrs - 9:00 to 10:00 am, 9+ yrs 10:00 to 11:00 am.

The clinics will be led by SHS Head Tennis Coach Chance Sistrunk, former Oklahoma State HS Singles Champion assisted by some of the best high school and junior high players in Stillwater.
