On Wednesday June 8, 2016 retired Marine Master Sergeant, Rodney Buentello was spending time with his family at #BanderaCityPark near #SanAntonio, TX when he jumped into action without hesitation after observing two teenagers who had fallen into the river and were struggling. Buentello saved both of the teenagers before being taken by the undercurrent and drowned. Buentello was a 2-time #PurpleHeartAwardrecipient for his actions as a Marine, an educator, mentor, family man and overall man of honor coming from a family with a proud tradition of serving in the #MarineCorps. This selfless act of heroism is what we honor as it epitomizes what it is to be a warrior, someone who is prepared to pay the ultimate sacrifice for his fellow man. Buentello, his spirit and selflessness will not be forgotten. #AllStarVets is committed to spreading and sharing this story with the world! In the days where the negative news and negative stories get the lions share of attention, everyone needs to know that there are heroes still among us, people like Rodney Buentello. Men of high moral character with unwavering principals to the extent that they will give their own life if it means that you or I can live on.
