Why is it called Creeping Bentgrass?—it’s a stoloniferous variety of turf that spreads (creeps) horizontally through stolons or “runners” that grow just below the surface.
When you fill a divot with sand, you are giving the turf a level surface to creep in on.

Why do we have naturalized pond banks and native areas on the golf course? 🌾
Although frustrating when a ball lands there…
They provide a habitat and food source for beneficial insects like pollinators 🐝
Tall grasses and plants improve water quality by filtering runoff water before it enters the aquatic ecosystem 💧
Naturalized areas require much less maintenance, allowing for the crew to direct their time into manicuring more important areas on the golf course 🚜

A major project was completed late last night.
We had our leaky and aging suction lines replaced with new HDPE fused piping that will last for hopefully a lifetime!
These lines and the pumps they feed are the absolute lifeline of the golf course. Without them there would be no grass!
Greatful for Chris from DAF Services to stick it out until 8pm in 90 degree weather to get us up and running (clearly he has no fear towards water snakes and snappers)
Now it’s time to fill up the pond again!
