5 ½ years ago — October 2021 — I opened Functional Massage Therapy.
If you would have told me then what these years would hold, I don’t know if I would have believed you.
It has not been a straight line. It’s been ebbs and flows. Some months I’ve felt so clear, so motivated, so locked in on my goals. Other months, just getting out of bed and showing up for my clients and my kids felt like the biggest win.
Because in these last 5 ½ years, life has lifed.
A divorce.
Losing my mom.
Learning how to be a mom to three young adults who don’t need me in the same way anymore, but still need me so deeply.
And just... all the other things swirling around us that we all carry quietly.
My practice has evolved as I have evolved. My goals at the start are not my goals now. And that’s okay. That’s supposed to happen.
What I’ve learned — really, truly learned — is that the most important thing I can do is give myself grace. To let things happen naturally. To stop forcing a timeline that was never mine to force.
Is everything 100% where I want it to be? No.
But is it exactly where it’s supposed to be right in this moment? Absolutely yes.
And for that, I’m proud. I’m grateful. And I’m still here. Still building. Still holding space for healing — for you, and for me.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Whether you’ve been here since October 2021 or you just found me — thank you.
Energy flows where intention goes. 🤍🌿
Always,
Lauren
