All season long, you got to meet the people behind the course. The ones mowing it, pouring it, stocking it, selling it, driving it and somehow keeping this whole place moving.

Some have been here for decades. Some survived their first season. Every one of them is part of what makes Idlewild, Idlewild.

Meet The Crew Monday:

Meet John

One of the quiet ones behind the scenes. He shows up, gets to work, and somehow manages to make a whole lot happen without making much noise about it.

From tees and approaches to greens, John takes pride in keeping the course in shape for everyone else to enjoy… even though you won’t catch him out there playing a round himself. He’s also the guy who’s always willing to step in and cover when the crew needs him.

And when he’s off the clock? There’s a decent chance you’ll find him at Wave Point or the Red Room.

We’re lucky to have you, John.

Meet the Crew Monday

Meet Joe.

20+ years at Idlewild. Safe to say, Joe knows a thing or two around here.

Our longest tenured employee, Joe is the kind of guy who doesn’t need much fanfare. He shows up, knows the job, gets it done, and probably already fixed the thing before you even knew it was broken.

From just about every job on the course to his beloved Toro Sidewinder, there isn’t much around Idlewild Joe hasn’t mastered.

Quiet. Dependable. And an absolute staple of this place.

It’s been a dry one.

Our grounds crew has been putting in the work all summer to keep idlewild at its best, but there are some things even the best irrigation system can’t replace… Sometimes, you just need rain.

We appreciate the patience, understanding, and support from our members and golfers while we keep doing everything we can to care for the course.

A little rain wouldn’t hurt, though.
