CrossFit Armati

CrossFit Armati "Armati" is a Latin word meaning "equipped, armed, reinforced."

That’s exactly what we’re doing at the Armati Collective — equipping members like you to be ready to take on any tasks that life throws at you.

Iron Club.

This month, two more members joined the ranks: Ben V. and Abby C.

Iron Club is earned by making our monthly Committed Club... 12 months in a row, without fail, for any reason. Not close. Not almost. Twelve consecutive months, no exceptions.

Ben and Abby are the 40th and 41st members to accomplish this since we started tracking back in 2021.

Here’s some perspective on what that actually means. The average person’s New Year’s resolution doesn’t make it past the middle of January. Ben and Abby didn’t just start strong... they showed up like that for a full year straight. Through busy months, slow months, sickness, travel, life. Twelve consecutive months of proving it, over and over again.

That’s not motivation. That’s discipline. That’s a decision made new every single month for a year.

Ben, Abby... incredibly well done. You’ve earned your place in Iron Club.

Mug No. 54 belongs to Chris D.

Chris and his family have been membes here since July of 2023 after they relocated back to Door County from the western side of the state.

Chris is part of our local law enforcement community. CrossFit isn’t just fitness for him... it’s how he stays physically capable for a demanding job and how he manages the stress that comes with it.

His schedule runs upside down more often than not, evenings and odd hours that would give most people an easy excuse to skip. Chris finds a way in anyway.

Beyond his own training, Chris and his wife have been active in the broader CrossFit community, volunteering at the CrossFit Games in years past. He’s one of our biggest advocates, always sharing what we do here with the people around him.

Lately, Chris has found a new way to pass fitness on... skateboarding with his son. Watching that passion carry into the next generation is exactly what this is all about.

365 workouts over three years of an unpredictable schedule. That’s not luck. That’s a decision made again and again.
Chris, thank you for being who you are in this community. Well earned.

AUGUST COMMITTED CLUB

August in Door County means tourists, boats, festivals, and every excuse in the world to skip the gym. 24 of our members didn't take the bait.

That's 24 people who showed up consistently through the busiest month of the year here. No shortcuts, no easy way around it. Just decided to make it happen.

And within that group, two of our members took it a step further.

Abby C. and Ben V. earned their way into Iron Club this month. Twelve consecutive months of Committed Club. Not one missed month, for any reason, for a full year.

That's not luck. That's a decision made over and over again, through every season, every busy stretch, every reason it would've been easier to skip.

Abby, Ben... well done. You've earned it.

To everyone in our August Committed Club... this is what consistency actually looks like. Keep it up.

Most people walk into a gym at their highest level of motivation. A goal, some energy, ready to change.

Then somewhere before the three-month mark... they stop coming.

Here's the problem. Real change in your health and fitness doesn't happen in 90 days. It happens in year one, year two, year four. If you leave before the 90-day mark, you never actually get to find out what your body and your life could look like.

It's rarely about the equipment. It's rarely even about the programming.

I wrote about what actually keeps people showing up for years, not months. The culture. The accountability. The community that shows up for each other, not just for a workout.

Our average member has been with us for over four years. That doesn't happen by accident.

We are Door County.

Independently owned and operated since 2017. Not a franchise. Locally coached and built by hand for this community, not shipped in from somewhere else.

Support local is a message near and dear to us.

The Lift Local Hoodie is here to say it out loud... heavyweight, built for Door County falls and winters. Available in Pepper and Blue Jean.

$65. Presale only. This is a one-time limited order... no reprints. If you want one, now's the only chance. We will ship just about anywhere.

Presale closes Monday, August 24th.

Home is your first place. Work is your second.

But there's a third place — somewhere that belongs to neither. Somewhere you go because you want to. Somewhere people know your name, cheer for you, and show up for you on the hard days.

For a lot of our members, CrossFit Armati is that place.

I wrote about what that actually looks like, why it matters more than most people realize, and why social connection might be just as important to your health as any workout.

If you've been quietly looking for something like this... come see what we've built here.

Also, how great is this photo?! Four amazing ladies that I greatly respect and admire all repping generations of CrossFit Armati attire!

Mug No. 52 belongs to Jason.

Jason started with us on August 24th, 2017. He’s one of our original “founding members”. Since that time, he’s been raising three boys, running his own photography business, and also took on a role as a local firefighter. Life has pulled him away from this gym more than once over the years... and every single time, he found his way back.

A year and a half ago, Jason had a heart attack.

He found his way back from that too.

I have been holding this mug for five years. Waiting. Knowing that if I kept it long enough, the day would come. Today it did.

365 workouts doesn’t always look like a straight line. For some people it’s a sprint. For Jason it looked like life... full of detours, demands, hard seasons, and the kind of grit that doesn’t announce itself.

Jason, you are exactly the kind of person this gym was built for. We are so grateful you keep finding your way back to us.

This mug was worth every year of waiting.

Mady earned it! Our newest Armati Iron Club member.

Twelve consecutive months of Committed Club. Not one miss. Not one excuse. Just showing up, putting in the work, and holding the standard…every single time.

Oh, and she’s sixteen. And she does it at 5am.

Mady, you are an example to every single person in this gym regardless of age. We are honored to have you in this community.

Iron Club belongs to you.

July Committed Club.

Boats on the water. Tourists everywhere. Festivals, fireworks, and every reason in the world to say “I’ll start again in September.”

These members said no to all of it.

They averaged three or more classes per week through the height of Door County summer. While the rest of the peninsula was in full vacation mode, this crew kept their standard. Early mornings, hot gyms, busy schedules, yet none of it stopped them.

That kind of consistency doesn’t happen by accident. It’s a choice made over and over again when the excuses are loudest.

To our July Committed Club... you didn’t take the summer off from becoming a better version of yourself. That’s not nothing. That’s everything.

Hold the Standard.

1000 workouts!

Mark came in November of 2019 to improve his golf game….that was a long time ago.

What started as a seasonal experiment turned into something else entirely. Mark found out what happens when you show up consistently, work hard, and refuse to quit. A thousand times over.

He’s in his 60s. He throws down at noon open gym with coaches half his age and doesn’t blink. He cheers for everyone around him. He walks in the door the same way every time…ready to work, good energy, zero complaints. Not to mention, he’s definitely more shredded than nearly anyone else his age!

1000 workouts is not a number. It’s a decision made over and over again across years of early mornings, busy schedules, and days when it would have been easier not to come.

Mark, you are one of the great ones. Grateful every day that a golf game brought you through our door.

Here’s to the next thousand.
