GROWING DANCERS. 🩵

More than strong technique. More than building character. We're a place where dancers are known, encouraged, challenged, and inspired to grow, both in dance and in life.

At Allongé Dance Academy, we take dance training seriously, but we care just as much about the person behind the dancer.

From the first steps to the more challenging ones, we're here to teach, encourage, and inspire every child who walks through our doors.

Because who they become matters just as much as how they dance.

A huge THANK YOU to the Isle of Wight County Fair for inviting us to perform! 💜

We loved having the opportunity to share the joy and love of dance as an art form that can move hearts, tell stories, and bring people together.

We’re also incredibly grateful for the fantastic organization, oversight, staging, safety, and sound support provided throughout the event. Your team made it such a wonderful experience for our dancers!

Thank you, Isle of Wight County, for giving us a beautiful space to share what we love with your community. We were honored to be part of the fair! 🩰✨

They already know what dance is supposed to look like. 🩰

They’ve seen the beautiful arms, the pointed feet, the tutus, the turns. They know the picture of a ballerina.

But they don’t yet know what ballet is supposed to feel like.

That’s where the educator comes in.

We teach them to feel where their weight belongs. To discover balance and alignment. To understand how the arms connect to the back, how turnout begins at the hip, how movement works with music, and how the body learns to create what the eyes already recognize.

At first, they imitate the picture.

Then, little by little, education turns that picture into understanding.

And somewhere along the way, they stop simply trying to look like dancers…

and begin to become dancers. 💙

That is one of my favorite parts of teaching.

✨ AN EXTRA-SPECIAL SNEAK PEEK FROM THE EN POINTE GALLERY ✨

Some pointe shoes carry more than the marks of dancing.
They carry a story. 🩰

These shoes were worn by Carabosse in our 2026 production of Sleeping Beauty: Rooted in Love—and now they have been transformed into a one-of-a-kind work of art:

🖤 The Redemption of Carabosse 🖤

How fitting that the shoes of a character who represented darkness have themselves been redeemed—something once worn, worn out, and finished given new beauty and new purpose.

It echoes so much of the message behind Rooted in Love: God is in the business of redemption. He takes what appears broken, spent, or finished and makes something beautiful from it. 🤍

Tomorrow evening, The Redemption of Carabosse will be available to bid on in our En Pointe Gallery Silent Auction at Cornerstone Ballet Company’s Friends & Family Night.

A piece of our stage.
A piece of our story.
A beautiful picture of redemption. 🩰✨
