Here’s how we lineup for game two, as JR Ritchie makes his first start since May 18th!

The are appointing C Jair Camargo as the club’s 27th man for today’s double header. MGR Walt Weiss says they want to avoid having Drake Baldwin catch again.

The club is also optioning RHP Anthony Molina to Triple-A Gwinnett and bringing up RHP Carlos Carrasco for more length in the pen.

I don’t know what’s up with this team right now but my goodness they are not playing great. 1-5 in their last six games. Yaz can’t hit, Dom can’t hit, Riley can’t hit, Kim can’t get above a .100 batting average. They’re starting to sink, and fast. They gotta change things around. Fast. Game two tonight starts at 7:15pm EST. JR Ritchie will take the mound looking to get the Braves back in the win column.

This is the greatest day ever. Drake Baldwin is back and leading off tonight against the Giants!

The have re-signed RHP Carlos Carrasco and C Maverick Handley to minor league contracts, after both were dropped from the 40-man roster this week.

The 39-year-old Carrasco has been given the “Jesse Chavez” treatment all season, bouncing back and forth between the majors, the minors, and free agency. He’s pitched 9.0 innings of 3 runs ball over the course of five appearances in the majors. He’ll likely get brought back up again, after Strider went down and JR Ritchie slotted back into the rotation. The club will likely want another long relief guy alongside Reynaldo Lopéz and Didier Fuentes.

Handley was released after the Braves activated Hurston Waldrep, who needed a spot on the 40-man roster. Hadley was injured at the time and has only played in a total of 5 games since the Braves claimed him off of waivers from the Orioles back in May. If Austin Wynns is outrighted to Gwinnett, Hadley will be fourth highest on the organizational depth chart once he’s healthy.

Today, the returned C Drake Baldwin from his rehabilitation assignment, reinstated him from the injured list, and outrighted C Austin Wynns to Triple-A Gwinnett.

UPDATE: Per Mark Bowman of mlb.com, RHP Spencer Strider’s MRI showed no ligament damage, just inflammation. There’s currently no concerns about surgery. Today’s doctor visit will provide indication of the next steps. Dr. Meister, who performed Strider’s 2024 surgery, will provide a timetable for recovery. We’ll have an idea by tomorrow of when Strider will start throwing again.

A huge sigh of relief for a hurt rotation.
