A recent systematic review and meta-analysis (PMID: 39070254) provides an understanding of the cognitive benefits of creatine supplementation. The study found that:

*️⃣Memory improvement: Creatine supplementation led to a significant enhancement in memory.
*️⃣Attention time: There was a significant reduction in attention time, indicating faster task completion.
*️⃣Processing speed: Processing speed saw marked improvement..

Additionally, research highlights that doses of 20 g/day or 0.3 g/kg/day for ≤ 7 days or 4 g/day for several months are required to increase brain creatine levels and improve cognitive performance (doi:10.1016/j.aehs.2024.05.002). However, the optimal dosage and response dynamics for cognitive improvement remain areas that need more understanding.

These findings provide compelling evidence for the role of creatine in supporting cognitive function, offering potential applications in brain health improvement strategies.

On Wednesday Sept 25th from 530-730pm, Doc RJ will be performing free injury screens at our gym.

He is a doctor of physical therapy who specializes in treating gym-goers, weightlifters, athletes, and runners. He also specializes in pelvic floor and vestibular rehabilitation as well.

It’s pretty simple to sign up, but you do need to sign up. You can simply follow the link below or scan the QR code on the fliers in the gym.

These will be free 15-minute-long mini appointments where you can ask sports physical therapists any questions you have.

We definitely recommend you check this out, because we want you to be able to push yourself and train with us for a long time, and these screens are a great resource.
