Today is National First Responder Day!
Ski patrollers deliver emergency care, perform complex rescues, and help promote safety in ski area environments. What sets patrollers apart is their ability to respond in challenging alpine terrain and provide advanced care miles from traditional medical support, such as stabilizing an injury on a steep slope.
To all who respond first and stay until the job is done: thank you.

NSP Women's Program empowers women patrollers to sharpen skills, build confidence and connections, and promote women's leadership.
Whether it’s mastering advanced toboggan handling techniques, developing leadership skills, or mentoring the next generation, this program ensures women have the tools and opportunities to excel. Across the country, women are shaping the future of ski, snowboard, and bike patrolling—and inspiring others to join them.

If you’re all about skiing, snowboarding, biking, and keeping people safe on the mountain, joining NSP is one of the best ways to express those passions!
We are always looking for volunteers, professional patrollers, and hosts ready to combine adventure with service.
The process is to connect with a local patrol, create your NSP account, complete required education courses, and start making a difference. As a candidate, you’ll train for first aid in outdoor environments—preparing you to respond when it matters most.
